Chrono Trigger cross-stitch designs are available as third-party digital patterns, but the reviewed listings are charts—not confirmed official kits. Before choosing one, compare its stitch count, colors, fabric assumptions, and file details; plan to buy fabric and floss separately.

Compare the digital patterns
These are two seller-described examples, not a complete catalogue or a measure of what is typical. Check the current listing for file contents and terms before purchasing.

Use the stitch count to judge scale
Stitch count describes the design grid, not its finished size on every fabric. A 242 × 125 chart has a wider grid than a 100 × 100 chart, but fabric count changes how large the completed piece will be. Compare the seller’s dimensions for your intended Aida count, or calculate the size from the chart before buying materials.
Consider the color count and chart readability
Fourteen colors may mean fewer thread changes than a 29-color chart, but color count alone does not establish how easy a pattern is to stitch. Review the chart preview and confirm the file includes a readable symbol key and the formats you need. The cited listing details do not independently verify chart legibility or stitch difficulty.
What supplies should you expect to source?
Because the cited digital patterns are charts rather than complete kits, expect to obtain fabric and embroidery floss separately. Aida count and color should match the pattern setup or the finished dimensions you want. PixelComfort specifies 14-count black Aida as its setup while allowing alternatives; the other listing provides example dimensions on 14-, 16-, and 18-count Aida. One cited supply reference identifies standard DMC floss, but do not assume a particular brand is required unless the pattern’s materials list says so: 14-count Aida and embroidery floss.
- Choose the pattern and check its full materials list, chart format, and fabric assumptions.
- Select the Aida count and color. If changing either from the seller’s setup, recalculate the finished dimensions and confirm the design will fit your hoop or frame.
- Buy the required floss colors and quantities from the pattern’s key; the color count is not a substitute for a complete thread list.
Are the patterns officially licensed?
The cited listings establish third-party fan designs, not authorization by Square Enix. Nintendo UK’s legal information lists Chrono Trigger copyright and trademark notices and identifies Square Enix as the rights holder; it does not verify that any particular chart is authorized: Nintendo UK legal information.
Square Enix’s English Chrono Trigger sharing guidelines concern certain game materials, including gameplay videos and images. They prohibit commercial use of covered materials except for specified partner programs and reserve the right to request removal. The page says it was last updated April 10, 2025. Its rule states: “Do not use Materials for commercial use, except as part of the partner programs operated by YouTube, Twitch, or similar programs.” That guidance does not, by itself, settle the status of every fan-made cross-stitch chart: Square Enix Chrono Trigger usage guidelines.
