The Architecture MasterPrize (AMP) is an international awards program recognizing work in architecture and related design fields. Its 2026 entry period is closed and jurying is underway, according to AMP’s current homepage. Here’s what the program covers, how judging works, and what prospective entrants should know about fees and timing.

What is the Architecture MasterPrize?

AMP describes its mission as advancing appreciation of quality architectural design worldwide. Its awards span architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, architectural product design, and architectural photography, and submissions are welcome from around the world. Architecture MasterPrize reports that 2025 submissions came from 72 countries; that is the organization’s own figure, not an independently verified count.

How does AMP judging work?

AMP describes a staged process on its official information page:

  1. Official Selection: Entries first go through a selection stage that creates the AMP Official Selection longlist.
  2. Jury scoring: Entries are assigned to jurors according to expertise and scored. The stated considerations include design excellence, aesthetics, environmental, cultural and contextual considerations, originality, practicality, functional requirements, and sustainability.
  3. Top distinctions: The highest-scoring entries are considered for Best of Best. Further jury review determines nominations for Design of the Year.

AMP says the winners are selected by a jury of architects and leaders in the architecture world. It lists a trophy and publicity showcasing winners’ designs to a worldwide audience among the award benefits.

What is the current AMP cycle?

As of October 7, 2026, AMP’s homepage says 2026 entries are closed and jurying is underway. The FAQ says winners are announced four to six weeks after submissions close, but the official material does not confirm a specific 2026 announcement date. The homepage also lists a 2025/26 winners gala at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao for Tuesday, November 24, 2026, described as invitation-only and presented with the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation. Because that event is in the future, check AMP’s site for updates.

How much are AMP submission fees?

There is no single fee for every entry. AMP’s information page lists amounts that vary by program, discipline, entrant type, and entry phase. The following are the figures shown on that page; they should be checked against the current fee schedule before submitting.

Program or entry type Fee shown by AMP Qualification
Design of the Year early entry Starts at €264 ($315) per category AMP describes this as a discounted fee with a stated 30% discount.
Professional architecture entry €375 ($450) Regular fee.
Professional product design entry €252 ($300) Regular fee.
Student entries Separate amounts The cited information page gives student pricing separately by program.
Firm of the Year Not one fixed amount AMP says pricing depends on firm size, categories, and deadlines.

The same page describes discounts for additional categories. Confirm the relevant discipline, entrant type, and deadline phase on AMP’s fee and program information page before budgeting.

What should entrants check before submitting?

Review the rules for the specific category rather than assuming all AMP programs use the same criteria or deadlines. In particular, check:

  • Whether the project fits the discipline and category you intend to enter.
  • The project completion window and required submission materials for that program.
  • The fee for your entrant type and the current early, regular, or other deadline phase.
  • How the published judging criteria relate to the project you are entering.
  • Whether the trophy and publicity described by AMP are useful benefits for your practice or project.

AMP says the initial entry description is limited to 600 characters and may be published on the winner’s page and in the winners book. Prepare a concise description suitable for public use, and check the current entry instructions at AMP’s submission page.

Is there an AMP winners book on Amazon?

AMP’s entry page refers to a winners book, but that reference does not establish that a particular edition is currently available for purchase on Amazon. Check for a live listing and confirm its edition and seller details before relying on availability.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
