Affinity 2.5.7 is an archived release of three separate V2 apps—Photo, Designer, and Publisher—not one suite installer. Serif’s inspected update pages list newer versions, and expose different 2.5.7 downloads by app and platform. Use only the official archives, check the package and device requirements, and do not assume that a newer-build document will open in 2.5.7.

The name commonly refers to three related V2 applications, each with its own identity and installer:

In Publisher, StudioLink can provide Photo and Designer tools when the relevant apps are installed and configured consistently. The inspected archives show 2.5.7 as a previous version, not the newest listed release. Availability and account access can vary; the pages reviewed do not establish that every historical build is available to every user.
What changed in version 2.5.7?
The available evidence for the specific 2.5.7 patch is limited. An Affinity Forum search-result excerpt for Designer 2 for iPad reports a PDF-export fix involving missing ICC colour profiles. The forum page could not be opened for verification, so this should be treated as a narrow report about the iPad Designer build—not as a confirmed fix for desktop releases or all three apps.
Separately, Serif’s Designer feature page describes additions in version 2.5, including the Stroke Width Tool, variable fonts, and QR Code Tool. Those are version 2.5 features, not evidence of new features introduced specifically in 2.5.7.
Is Affinity 2.5.7 the latest version?
No. On the official pages checked, Serif lists Publisher 2.6.4 and Designer 2.6.4 for Windows, and Photo 2.6.5 for macOS, ahead of archived 2.5.7 downloads. Listings can change.

Where can I download Affinity 2.5.7?
Use Serif’s official update pages rather than third-party mirrors. The inspected pages list Windows 2.5.7 packages for Publisher and Designer, and a macOS Universal DMG for Photo. These findings do not establish that every app’s 2.5.7 build is publicly listed for every operating system. The Universal License download page provides current desktop routes for the three V2 apps and App Store routes for iPad; it does not prove that one page exposes all historical builds.

Choosing the correct Windows installer

Serif directs Intel/AMD Windows devices to x64 installers and ARM-based Windows devices to ARM64 installers. Check the device architecture before downloading.
What is the difference between MSIX and MSI/EXE?
Serif recommends MSIX for the usual installation experience. It suggests MSI/EXE for corporate-network use or if installation issues remain. Choose one installer type for the apps on the same device: Serif says mixing MSIX and MSI/EXE is unsupported and not recommended, and using the same type supports Publisher StudioLink operation. Installation checklist
- Identify whether the Windows device uses Intel/AMD x64 or ARM architecture.
- Choose MSIX or MSI/EXE, and use the same installer type across the apps on that device.
- Download the desired app’s 2.5.7 entry from its official Serif archive, if listed there.
- Install the app and follow the account or store instructions applicable to your edition.
- Confirm the installed version in the application.
- Test a duplicate of a representative project before using an older build for production.
Test fonts, linked resources, colour profiles, PDF export, StudioLink, and files stored on cloud or network locations. For account and platform-specific download questions, consult Serif’s V2 Support Centre and the relevant official app page.
System requirements and operating-system support
Requirements vary by app, platform, and release. The current Designer feature page lists Mac systems with Apple M-series or Intel processors; Windows 11 or Windows 10 May 2020 Update (2004/20H1/build 19041) or later; and iPadOS 15 or later on listed iPad families. It also gives graphics-card and GPU-acceleration requirements. These are current V2 page details containing 2.6 material, not a historical 2.5.7-only requirements matrix.
Use the official requirements page for the app and platform you plan to use, and distinguish current guidance from version-specific archive information. An installer launching does not by itself establish official support for that operating system. The Affinity V2 Support Centre directs users to the relevant app requirements. Serif also lists graphics-tablet support for desktop Designer; a tablet is optional input hardware, not an installation requirement.
Compatibility with later files
Downgrading is a compatibility risk. Affinity forum guidance warns that documents saved in 2.6.0 will not open in 2.5.7. Do not assume files saved in later builds are backward compatible.
Before installing the older build:
- Duplicate the working file and keep the original untouched.
- Do not overwrite a legacy copy with a file saved by a newer application.
- Preserve neutral exports such as PDF, SVG, TIFF, PSD, or PNG where appropriate.
- Keep fonts and linked assets available, subject to their licensing terms.
- Use the same tested version across a collaborative team.
- Open a representative file in 2.5.7 before downgrading a production machine.
If a file was saved in 2.6.x, do not promise that 2.5.7 can open it. Consult the Affinity downgrade discussion.

When should you use 2.5.7?

Troubleshooting
The installer will not run
Check the processor architecture and confirm that you selected the intended installer type. Serif suggests MSI/EXE for corporate-network use or if installation issues remain. Avoid mixing installer types across the apps on one device.
StudioLink is missing
Confirm that the relevant Photo, Designer, and Publisher apps are installed and that the same Windows installer type is used. Installing Publisher alone does not provide the other apps’ tools.
PDF export still fails
The available 2.5.7 evidence does not establish that every export issue was fixed across all apps and platforms. Check fonts, linked resources, colour profiles, and document contents, and test a copy. The Designer for iPad forum search-result excerpt reports a fix involving missing ICC profiles; it should not be generalized to desktop builds.
A file will not open after downgrading
Stop saving over it. Restore the newer original or backup, and test any export or conversion on a copy. Later-version native documents may be incompatible with 2.5.7.

Will Affinity 2.5.7 work on Windows 11 or Apple Silicon?
The current Designer requirements page lists Windows 11 and Mac systems with Apple M-series or Intel processors, but it contains current V2 guidance and 2.6 material. It is not a guarantee for every 2.5.7 app build. Check the relevant app’s official requirements and archive.
