These four labels are not equivalent image models. FLUX 1.1 Pro is a hosted Black Forest Labs model, “FLUX LoRA” describes a customization approach whose compatibility depends on the base model and host, Midjourney V6.1 is a legacy model version, and Mystic V2 remains unidentified in the available authoritative research.
Consider FLUX 1.1 Pro when hosted or API access is central; consider a FLUX LoRA workflow when you need a repeated subject, product, or style and have confirmed a compatible base model and training route. Choose Midjourney V6.1 only when its specific older version or legacy behavior is the requirement, and do not rely on Mystic V2 until its vendor and product identity are verified.
Quick verdict
| What you need | Option to consider | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Hosted generation or API access | FLUX 1.1 Pro | Check the current route, price, and terms with BFL or the chosen distribution partner. |
| Customization for a recurring subject or style | FLUX LoRA workflow | Identify the base model, adapter, host, and training or inference route first. |
| A particular older Midjourney version | Midjourney V6.1 | It is no longer Midjourney’s default version. |
| A product called Mystic V2 | Verify its identity first | The available research does not establish its vendor or exact product. |
This is a decision framework, not a quality ranking. The available research does not establish a fair, common head-to-head image-quality test or a universal winner.
What each option represents
| Entry | What it is | Access or control | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| FLUX 1.1 Pro | A hosted image-generation model from Black Forest Labs | BFL API and named distribution partners | Current availability, price, and terms for the chosen route |
| FLUX LoRA | A customization method applied to a compatible base model, not one fixed product | Depends on the base model, trainer, and deployment | Base model, adapter, host, training data, and license |
| Midjourney V6.1 | A specific Midjourney model version | Midjourney’s version selection and workflow | Whether the older version suits your project and remains available for it |
| Mystic V2 | An unresolved product or model name | Not established | Official vendor listing, exact version, access, price, and rights |
FLUX 1.1 Pro: consider it for hosted or API access
Black Forest Labs describes FLUX 1.1 Pro as available through its API and distribution partners including Freepik, together.ai, fal.ai, and Replicate. Access, pricing, and terms can vary by route, so verify them with the provider you plan to use. See the Black Forest Labs model page.
This option is worth considering when you want a hosted generation workflow. The dossier does not establish a comparable current per-image price, nor does it provide a shared performance test against Midjourney V6.1 or a LoRA workflow. Check the current official pricing information for the exact model and output configuration before estimating costs.
FLUX LoRA: consider it when you need customization
LoRA is an adaptation approach, not a single standardized FLUX model. A recommendation to use “FLUX LoRA” is incomplete unless it identifies the compatible base model, adapter, host, and training or inference route.

A LoRA workflow may suit a recurring character, product, or visual style when the chosen setup supports that use. Before committing, establish whether you mean training a personalized adapter, using an existing adapter, or using a platform’s managed custom-model feature. Those options are not interchangeable.
What to check before using a LoRA
- Identify the exact base model and confirm that the adapter is compatible with it.
- Confirm whether you will train an adapter, use one that already exists, or use a hosted custom-model feature.
- Check the training-data requirements, trigger words, and workflow for the selected platform.
- Review the licenses and usage rights for the base model, adapter, and training images.
- Include training, inference, and hosting costs when comparing it with hosted generation.
Platform documentation can explain a workflow without proving compatibility with every FLUX model. For example, Leonardo.Ai documents custom LoRA training through its Elements feature using SDXL; that example is not evidence that the same workflow supports FLUX. See Leonardo.Ai’s Elements documentation.
Midjourney V6.1: a legacy version for specific needs
Midjourney dates V6.1’s release to July 30, 2024, and says it remained the default until June 16, 2025. Its version documentation now covers later versions, so V6.1 should be treated as a legacy or deliberately selected version rather than the current default. See Midjourney’s version documentation.
Midjourney says V6.1 was approximately 25% faster than V6. That is a vendor comparison with V6, not an independent benchmark or a comparison with FLUX or a LoRA workflow. No common test in the research establishes which option produces better images.

When V6.1 may make sense
Consider V6.1 if an existing project depends on that version’s behavior or if you specifically want its older workflow. For a new Midjourney evaluation, check the current version documentation and test the version you would actually use. Do not assume results for V6.1 apply to later versions.
Mystic V2: verify the product before comparing it
The available research did not find an authoritative source establishing Mystic V2’s vendor, exact model, access route, pricing, or terms. The name alone is not enough to make a reliable recommendation or compare its capabilities.
Before considering it, find an official product listing and confirm whether “Mystic V2” refers to a model, preset, checkpoint, or platform workflow. If different providers use the same name for different products, they should not be treated as one comparable model.
Which should you use for your task?
| Your priority | Option to investigate | Why the choice needs qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Hosted or API access | FLUX 1.1 Pro | Confirm the provider, current terms, and cost for your intended use. |
| Consistent recurring subject or style | A compatible FLUX LoRA workflow | Results depend on the base model, adapter, training, and deployment. |
| Existing work tied to V6.1 | Midjourney V6.1 | It is a legacy version, not the current default. |
| Evaluating Mystic V2 | Wait for verification | The product identity and terms remain unresolved. |
For image quality, text rendering, or character consistency, run a reproducible test using the exact versions and workflows you intend to use. The research does not support declaring a universal winner for photorealism, artistic style, or any other output category.

How to compare them fairly
Record the exact model or workflow and the conditions of each test. Keep the prompt intent consistent where the interfaces allow it, but do not assume different controls are equivalent.
- Record the exact model label, platform, and test date.
- Use and save the same prompt intent; note any platform-specific prompt changes.
- Record available settings, reference inputs, and output dimensions.
- Include the number of attempts and whether you selected a first result or a later one.
- Note any editing or upscaling after generation.
- Compare total workflow cost and effort for usable results, using current provider terms.
There is no common benchmark in the available research. Treat any vendor speed claim as specific to the vendor’s stated comparison, not as proof of superiority over another option.
Commercial rights and terms
Do not assume that outputs, adapters, or training images have the same rights across these workflows. Check the current terms for your chosen provider, account or plan, base model, adapter, and third-party host. Confirm commercial-use permissions and any privacy or data-handling terms before using the results for a client or business.
Final recommendations
- Consider FLUX 1.1 Pro when hosted or API access is central; check the current access route and terms.
- Consider a FLUX LoRA workflow when you need customization for a recurring subject or style and have verified compatibility, training route, and rights.
- Choose Midjourney V6.1 only when that specific legacy version suits your existing project or is deliberately required.
- Do not rank Mystic V2 until its vendor and exact product identity are established.
The practical choice is about workflow fit, not a proven overall winner. Compare the exact version, deployment, costs, and rights you would use, and test the outputs yourself before making a production decision.

FAQ
Is FLUX LoRA a separate image model?
No. LoRA is a customization approach applied to a compatible base model. “FLUX LoRA” needs a specific base model, adapter, and training or inference route to describe a usable workflow.
Is Midjourney V6.1 still the current default?
No. Midjourney’s version documentation says V6.1 was the default until June 16, 2025, and documents later versions.
Which option has the best image quality?
The available research does not establish a common head-to-head test or universal quality winner. Test the exact versions and workflows for your own task.
Can you recommend Mystic V2?
Not responsibly from the available information. Verify its official vendor listing and exact product identity before comparing its features, pricing, or rights.
