Para teñir una camisa en casa, identifica primero la fibra y el color original, lávala para quitar apresto y grasa, prepara un baño compatible y mantén la tela en movimiento. Después enjuágala hasta que el agua salga clara, lávala por separado y sécala a la sombra. El procedimiento cambia si buscas un color sólido o un diseño tie-dye.
Antes de empezar: la fibra y el color determinan el resultado
Comprueba la composición
Lee la etiqueta. Algodón, lino, lana, rayón y nylon suelen aceptar tintes específicos, mientras que el poliéster y las mezclas pueden necesitar formulaciones especiales y producir tonos menos intensos o distintos. Un colorante multifibra como el de CITOCOL declara compatibilidad con varias fibras y mezclas de hasta 50 % de poliéster o acrílico; comprueba siempre la etiqueta del producto que vayas a usar.

No elijas una camisa impermeabilizada, de lavado en seco, de planchado permanente o “no arrugable” si el fabricante del tinte las desaconseja.
Ten en cuenta el color inicial
El tinte se mezcla visualmente con la base. Por ejemplo, una tela azul teñida de amarillo puede quedar verde. Un tinte no convierte por sí solo una camisa oscura en un pastel claro; para aclarar una prenda se necesita un proceso distinto y compatible con la fibra.

Materiales y preparación
- Camisa limpia y tinte textil compatible con su fibra.
- Recipiente grande que no se use para alimentos, agua y una cuchara o paleta reservada para manualidades.
- Guantes, delantal, plástico para cubrir mesa y suelo y buena ventilación.
- Sal únicamente si la etiqueta la exige. Tintes Iris, por ejemplo, indica una cucharada por litro en su procedimiento concreto; no es una regla universal.
- Para tie-dye: botellas con boquilla, ligas resistentes, bolsas plásticas y una tina o lavadero.
Cómo teñir una camisa de un color uniforme: 13 pasos
- Lee la etiqueta de la camisa y del tinte. Confirma la fibra, las restricciones de la prenda, la temperatura, la cantidad de agua, los aditivos y el tiempo indicados para ese producto.
- Lava la camisa. Usa agua y detergente apropiado para eliminar grasa, suciedad, apresto y suavizante. Haute Couture recomienda una prenda limpia y sin apresto, incluso lavada dos o tres veces; CITOCOL pide lavarla con agua tibia y jabón.
- Pesa la prenda seca si el envase lo pide. La dosis depende del peso y del tono buscado. Sigue la tabla de tu marca: Haute Couture Colors declara que un bote de 300 g sirve para 300–400 g de tejido oscuro o 600–800 g de tejido claro, una dosificación específica de ese producto.
- Protege el área. Cubre superficies y suelo con plástico, ponte guantes y delantal y trabaja con ventilación. El tinte puede manchar superficies y piel.
- Prepara el baño de tinte. Disuelve primero el producto según sus instrucciones y usa un recipiente donde la camisa quede holgada. CITOCOL especifica aproximadamente 80 °C para disolver su producto; no apliques esa temperatura a otra marca sin confirmarlo.
- Humedece la camisa. Escúrrela hasta que esté uniformemente húmeda, sin bolsas de agua. Una prenda húmeda absorbe el baño de manera más regular.
- Sumerge la camisa extendida. Introduce toda la prenda y elimina pliegues grandes y bolsas de aire. El recipiente debe permitir que quede totalmente sumergida y pueda moverse.
- Remueve de forma constante. Redistribuye cuello, mangas, axilas, costuras y dobladillos para que reciban el baño. La agitación continua reduce zonas desiguales. Tintes Iris indica 45 minutos para su procedimiento.
- Respeta el tiempo del fabricante. No copies el tiempo de una marca en otra. Algunos instructivos incluyen un reposo posterior; sigue exactamente el del producto elegido.
- Comprueba el tono con cautela. La tela mojada parece más intensa. El color real se aprecia después de enjuagar y secar, así que no añadas más tinte solo por juzgar el tono húmedo.
- Enjuaga. Retira la camisa con guantes y aclárala con agua fría o a la temperatura indicada hasta que el agua salga clara y deje de expulsar tinte sobrante.
- Lava por separado. Haz los dos primeros lavados individualmente, o con colores similares si el fabricante lo permite, y usa el detergente recomendado.
- Seca y conserva. Seca a la sombra, evita el sol directo intenso y sigue las instrucciones del tinte para los lavados posteriores.

Cómo hacer tie-dye en la misma camisa
El tie-dye no busca uniformidad: crea zonas contrastadas mediante pliegues, giros y ligas.
Arrugado, acordeón o espiral
- Humedece la camisa y escúrrela.
- Para un efecto crumple, arrúgala sin un patrón fijo. Para rayas, dóblala en acordeón.
- Para una espiral, gira desde un punto central y cruza las ligas para fijar el disco.
- Sujeta la forma con ligas resistentes.
- Aplica uno o varios colores con botellas de boquilla, procurando no empapar de más las zonas que quieras mantener separadas.
- Guarda cada pieza teñida en su propia bolsa durante 24 horas, el tiempo indicado por adidas México para que el tinte penetre.
- Retira las ligas, estira la camisa y enjuaga hasta que el agua salga limpia.
- Lava por separado y seca a la sombra.
Problemas frecuentes y cómo evitarlos
- Manchas o zonas claras: suele faltar espacio, humedad uniforme o movimiento. Usa un recipiente mayor, elimina pliegues y agita toda la prenda.
- Tono más oscuro o diferente: la fibra sintética, la mezcla de colores y la concentración del baño modifican el resultado. Revisa composición y color base antes de corregir.
- El color se desprende en el primer lavado: enjuaga más tiempo y realiza los primeros lavados por separado, tal como indique el fabricante.
- El tono parece demasiado intenso: espera a que la camisa esté enjuagada y seca; la tela mojada siempre puede parecer más saturada.
Cómo combinar una prenda tie-dye
Si no sabes con qué llevarla, la recomendación atribuida por adidas a Niké, de Specs and Blazers, es combinar primero una pieza tie-dye con otra de color sólido. Así el estampado sigue siendo el foco y puedes valorar mejor el contraste.
