Wendy Sheppard’s Cross My Heart quilt comes in five finished sizes, from a table topper to a queen-bed quilt. The American Patchwork & Quilting sew-along ran January 2–February 12, 2023, so it is an archived event; the pattern and its correction remain useful if you want to make the quilt now.

Choose a finished size
The pattern offers five sizes for different uses. Dimensions below are finished measurements.

Get the correction before cutting
The official page flags errors in the optional size chart. The number of 1.5-inch squares is incorrect for the table runner, small throw, and queen-bed sizes; the white-print yardage for the throw is also affected. Use the page’s corrected Optional Size Chart alongside the pattern before cutting fabric.
There is also a separate instruction correction: in “Assemble Pieced Sashing Strips,” Step 3, the strip should measure 47.5 inches, not 471.5 inches. These corrections are especially important if you are making one of the affected sizes.

Where to find the pattern
Cross My Heart appeared in the February 2023 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting. The official page lists the individual pattern in PDF-download and printed formats, as well as a digital issue through Zinio. The APQ Shop listing identifies the pattern designer and the same five sizes. Check each page for current availability and delivery details.

For the Valentine’s version, the official page suggests red and white prints. The pictured quilt uses Bee Cross Stitch by Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs as its background, with assorted red fabrics from Sheppard’s stash. That collection identifies the sample background fabric; it is not presented as a required kit or a pattern requirement.

The red-and-white palette is a suggestion, not a limitation. Choose prints that suit the intended use or occasion; the official page also notes the design can be adapted for a baby quilt, wedding quilt, or another holiday. For a pieced version, quilting cotton in your chosen prints is a practical fabric category to consider.
