Freedom Kick was an activist-art project in which participants kicked a soccer-ball-sized likeness of Donald Trump’s head. INDECLINE revived the project at Superchief Gallery in Los Angeles in October 2024, several years after an earlier presentation near the U.S.-Mexico border. The reports describe an artwork and participatory event—not a soccer ball offered for sale.
What was Freedom Kick?
Freedom Kick turned a likeness of Trump’s head into the ball for an unconventional soccer game. At the Los Angeles event, participants dribbled and kicked it indoors, according to TMZ’s October 9, 2024 report. The invitation quoted by PerthNow on October 10, 2024 asked, “Have you ever wanted to play soccer with Trump’s head?”

“Freedom Kick is an appeal to the American sense of justice as a match between two opposing teams. The rules are meant to protect us from cheaters. We believe it is time to reset the game before we have to spend another four years watching a cheeseburger-scarfing, bloviating mess hobble up and down the pitch spreading hate.”
That is the artists’ stated interpretation, not evidence that every participant or visitor understood the work in the same way. The invitation for the Los Angeles event also called for “a night of joy and rebellion” and addressed “activists, artists, punks and radicals,” according to PerthNow.

Was the Trump head soccer ball for sale?
The available event reporting does not identify Freedom Kick as a commercially available product and does not verify sales of a replica, print, ticket, or related merchandise. It is most accurately understood from these accounts as a specific art object used in participatory events, rather than a purchasable soccer ball. The object’s material and construction also remain unconfirmed by the reports.
