Kjoo is associated with Portuguese designer and fiber artist Maria João Ribeiro, whose historical work includes handmade felt and crocheted accessories. Archived coverage and images show fiber bangles and crochet bracelet designs, but they do not establish that any particular bracelet is available to buy today.
Who is Kjoo?
A 2013 profile in The Clothes Maiden Magazine identifies Maria João Ribeiro as a Portuguese graphic designer and fiber artist, and describes her accessories as handcrafted felt and crocheted work. A 2012 jewelry article, “More than Metal” in Bread and Cake, also presents her jewelry as playful and inventive and depicts a multicolor fiber bangle.
What do the bracelet designs look like?
The available historical examples suggest more than one approach to fiber jewelry. An archived Pinterest description names a “leather & crochet cotton striped friendship bracelet by kjoo”, while the Bread and Cake article shows a fiber bangle. A Flickr album titled “bracelets,” attributed to “Maria – kjoo,” provides additional historical imagery, not a current catalogue.
