- Confirm permission and conditions. Check your lease, identify the existing flooring, and rule out damp rooms, radiant-heat conflicts and areas with appliances or furniture that will sit permanently on the adhesive.
- Prepare the substrate. Remove wax, grease and dust, repair dents, and ensure the surface is smooth, dry and fully cured. Uneven texture will telegraph through thin vinyl.
- Plan the pattern. Measure the room, establish a center line and dry-fit approximately 10–15 tiles. Adjust the starting point so narrow slivers are not left at prominent edges.
