Fraimic is a rechargeable color E Ink canvas for displaying uploaded photos and art, with optional voice-prompt AI image creation. Its reflective, non-backlit screen is designed to resemble printed artwork, so it needs ambient light and is not suited to rapid image changes.
It comes in Standard and Large sizes. Compare their dimensions, resolution, current price and availability, and consider how often you expect to change images before choosing a model.
What Fraimic is and how it works
Fraimic describes its product as a smart canvas using E Ink Spectra 6. You can manage images through the company’s website or use the optional Voice-to-Vision feature: tap the canvas and speak a prompt. Fraimic says the web workflow can crop, orient and calibrate uploaded images.

The screen reflects ambient light instead of emitting light from a backlight. It can resemble printed art in a suitably lit room, but it will not be equally visible in a dark room. Fraimic says image refresh takes several seconds, making the canvas better suited to artwork that stays put than to rapid slideshows.
Standard Canvas versus Large Canvas
Fraimic’s current homepage lists two sizes. The figures below are manufacturer specifications and observed prices, not independently verified measurements or guaranteed offers.
| Specification | Standard | Large |
|---|---|---|
| Display size | 13.3 inches | 31.5 inches |
| Frame dimensions | 14 × 18 × 2 inches | 24 × 36 × 2 inches |
| Resolution | 1600 × 1200 pixels | 2560 × 1440 pixels |
| Pixel density | 150 PPI | 94 PPI |
| Observed listed price | $399 | $1,299 |
Fraimic’s homepage listed the Standard at $399 and the Large at $1,299 when checked for this article; the Standard product card showed “Sold out.” Prices and stock can change, so verify the exact model’s current listing before ordering. The Large has a wider viewing format and lower listed pixel density. Choose based on wall space, viewing distance and the kind of artwork you want to display.
Voice-to-Vision and AI credits
Voice-to-Vision lets you tap the canvas and speak a prompt to request an AI-generated image. Fraimic identifies OpenAI as the service behind image generation. The company says ordinary upload and frame-management features are free, while optional AI generation includes 100 credits replenished each year; additional credits may be purchased through account settings. Fraimic says AI is used only when Voice-to-Vision is selected and can be disabled. These are manufacturer statements, not an independent privacy audit.

AI is optional: the canvas can display images uploaded through the website without using Voice-to-Vision. Fraimic also describes a local-only mode for directly changing or uploading art over home Wi-Fi without internet access or third-party servers. That local workflow is distinct from AI generation, which uses the stated AI service. The company also lists a REST API and Home Assistant integration.
Battery life and charging
Fraimic says the display draws power when changing an image, but not while a static image is displayed. The canvas has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and charges over USB-C. Its current FAQ estimates about three years of battery life for the Standard model with light use—roughly one image change per day. That is a company estimate, not an independently tested result, and actual battery life depends on refresh frequency.
An older Kickstarter FAQ gave a longer estimate of at least five years per charge for the Standard. For present-day expectations, use Fraimic’s current estimate rather than the earlier campaign claim. Neither figure should be treated as a guarantee.
Frames, setup and lighting
Fraimic says the canvas can be removed from its included frame and transferred into many frames of the same size. The listed frame sizes are 14 × 18 inches for Standard and 24 × 36 inches for Large. Check the inside dimensions and fit before buying a replacement or decorative frame; matching a nominal size alone does not guarantee compatibility. The Standard package is listed with a wood frame, mounting hardware, a USB-C cable and a manual.

The reflective display relies on ambient light. Fraimic says it does not emit light by design, so plan for suitable room lighting or a nearby lamp if the canvas will be viewed in low light. Its refresh behavior also makes it a poor match for rapid cycling through pictures.
Price, availability and support
At research time, the official homepage showed the Standard at $399 and the Large at $1,299, with the Standard product card marked “Sold out.” These are page observations, not guaranteed current prices or stock. Fraimic’s FAQ said both sizes were scheduled to ship in Q2 2026; that period has passed, so check the current product pages or contact Fraimic for availability.
Fraimic says it ships to most countries, but asks customers to confirm destination availability with support. Shipping costs are not resolved here, and import duties or VAT may apply depending on the destination. The company lists a one-year warranty for manufacturing defects and support through Discord or email.
Who is Fraimic for?
Fraimic may suit people who want changeable wall art with a reflective, paper-like appearance, want to upload their own images, or are interested in voice-prompt AI art. It is also worth considering if the local image workflow or Home Assistant integration matters to you.
