No official free MYAKU-MYAKU illustration files are offered on the Expo 2025 character page. Its guidance says images are not provided. It permits certain fan-made secondary works under restrictions, but that is different from permission to download, repost, distribute, or commercially use official artwork. Rules may have changed from April 1, 2026, so check the Association’s latest guidance for your intended use.
Can you download free official MYAKU-MYAKU illustrations?
No. The Expo 2025 official character page explicitly states, 「画像の提供はしていません」—“Images are not provided.” The page does not offer MYAKU-MYAKU image files under its published fan-creation guidance.
This distinction matters if you are looking for a file to paint from, print, post, or reuse in a project: the absence of a download does not make an image found elsewhere free to reuse. The Association identifies MYAKU-MYAKU and its official artwork as protected intellectual property, including after the Expo. Its 2026 notice warns against unauthorized or improper use.

What does the fan-creation guidance allow?
The character page says people may create and publish secondary works within the stated rules, including on social media. It lists restrictions that include sale, advertising or promotional use, distribution—including free distribution—and uses contrary to the Association’s intent. Read the official fan-creation information.
That limited permission concerns creating and publishing secondary works; it is not a general license to obtain or reuse official image files. If you plan to share a fan-made work, check the complete, current rules rather than assuming that a noncommercial purpose alone makes every use acceptable.

Check the current rules before using official artwork
On March 16, 2026, the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition announced that use of certain Association intellectual property would expand from April 1, 2026, subject to conditions. The notice says the “Co-Creation Design System” may be used for personal or in-house purposes that are noncommercial and aim to carry forward the Expo’s ideals. That statement concerns the system; it is not blanket permission to use MYAKU-MYAKU illustrations.
The notice said that details about designs, applications, and guidelines would be announced separately. It does not, by itself, establish the complete current process for using an individual character image. Check the Association’s current instructions or contact 2025MLO about your specific use before relying on the older character-page guidance.
