Is the original download still available?
The research available for this article does not establish whether the original Webalys download still works. SitePoint’s page remains accessible, but that alone does not confirm a working download or identify the files currently available.
Webalys’s current Streamline service is an adjacent source of vector icons and illustrations. Its existence does not prove that the old free Illustrator kit is still available, or that Streamline offers the same assets, formats, or terms.
Before using an old copy
- Look for the original source and confirm that the files are clearly identified.
- Check the exact file format and whether your Illustrator version opens it.
- Review the license attached to the files you actually obtain; do not rely only on an old description of the kit.
- Test a copy of the files and keep the original unchanged.
Does it work with current Adobe Illustrator?
That has not been established. SitePoint described the kit as an Illustrator resource, but the available research did not verify a working original download, identify its downloadable file formats, or name supported Illustrator versions. No hands-on compatibility test was performed for this article.

How to assess a legacy Illustrator UI kit
- Find the source. Confirm that the download is the original kit rather than a similarly named file.
- Check the files. Identify the formats supplied and whether Illustrator can open them.
- Review the terms. Match the license to the exact files you have obtained and the way you plan to use them.
- Test a copy. Open the files in your Illustrator version and check that the assets you need are present and usable.
Historical license and attribution
SitePoint reproduced a statement attributed to the kit’s designers: the kit was free for commercial use, with a link to the specified Webalys page required when elements, icons, or styles were used on an online website. The article said a link was not required when the assets were used only in application wireframes or user-interface mockups.
This is the license statement reported in SitePoint’s historical article, not a current license independently verified for files available today. Confirm the terms attached to the exact files before using them commercially. Do not assume that the old statement applies to assets now offered through another service.

Current adjacent option
Webalys’s Streamline service is a current adjacent option for vector icons and illustrations. Its published licensing terms apply to its own assets and include usage limits for the number of icons or illustrations embedded per project. Check the current product formats and license directly; Streamline is not evidence that the legacy free Illustrator kit survives or has the same terms.
