Happy Mother most likely refers to the 2002 Chinese film 母亲快乐 (also rendered Happy Mother). The title is also used for an unrelated dance single and Mother’s Day material, so check the film details below before looking for a particular version.
Which “Happy Mother” are you looking for?
The film is the strongest match when the search includes “Happy Mother 2002 film,” its Chinese title 母亲快乐, or a DVD or VCD. What is the film about?
According to the same secondary encyclopedia entry, the story follows popular singer Guo Xinli, who falls for Xu Wenlong and gives up her career to support him. After he succeeds, he abandons her, and she raises their son alone. This plot summary is attributed to that catalog entry; no filmmaker interview or official synopsis was identified.

What are the DVD and VCD editions like?
YesAsia’s catalog records describe two physical editions. The DVD details below apply to the listed US edition, not necessarily to every release carrying the title.
| Edition | Catalog details | Availability note |
|---|---|---|
| DVD | Region 1; Cantonese and Mandarin audio; no subtitles; 87 minutes; Tai Seng Video; listed release date June 6, 2003; place of origin listed as Hong Kong, China. | YesAsia marks it out of print and unavailable from the publisher. This does not establish whether a secondhand copy is currently for sale. |
| VCD | No English audio or subtitles, according to the listing. | YesAsia marks it out of print and unavailable from the publisher; current resale stock is not established. |

What should you check before buying a copy?
- Format: confirm whether the listing is for DVD or VCD and that your player supports it.
- Region: the cataloged DVD is Region 1; check your DVD player’s region compatibility.
- Language and subtitles: the DVD listing reports Cantonese and Mandarin audio but no subtitles. The VCD listing reports no English audio or subtitles.
- Condition and stock: the cited pages say the editions are out of print, but do not verify a seller’s current inventory, the condition of a copy, or whether resale is authorized.
Is Happy Mother available to stream?
Current streaming availability is not established by the cited listings. They do not identify a streaming service or confirm current distribution rights, so check services in your region rather than assuming that a catalog record means the film is available to watch online.
