Use Asian Paints’ own Investor page as your starting point. Open Corporate Action History, download the company’s Dividend Payout History PDF, and then verify the relevant announcement, record date, payment date and approval status in the annual report or exchange notice. To estimate your entitlement, multiply the number of shares you were eligible to hold on the record date by the rupee dividend per share. Add interim, final or special installments only when they belong to the same financial year. The result is a gross amount; tax deducted at source (TDS), if applicable, reduces the cash credited to your bank account but is not automatically your final tax bill.
How do I find Asian Paints’ official dividend history?
The most reliable source is Asian Paints Limited’s Investor page. In its Corporate Action History section, the company provides a downloadable Dividend Payout History PDF. Use that document for the per-share amounts, then use the relevant annual report or stock-exchange corporate-action notice to confirm dates and whether a final dividend was merely recommended or had been approved.

- Open the Asian Paints Investor page and select Corporate Action History.
- Download the Dividend Payout History PDF.
- Find the financial year and installment you need. The table covers financial years from FY2005-06 through the FY2025-26 interim dividend.
- Record the dividend type, face value, percentage and rupees-per-share amount.
- Open the matching annual report or corporate-action notice to check the announcement date, record date, payment date and approval wording.
- Use your demat statement or the registrar’s records to establish how many shares were eligible on the record date.
Secondary websites can help you spot a transcription error, but they should be a cross-check rather than your primary authority. Company notices take precedence when a secondary table differs or omits whether an amount was proposed, approved or paid.
What information is in the Dividend Payout History PDF?
The PDF is designed as a historical payout table rather than a personal entitlement statement. It identifies the financial year, installment type, face value, percentage and rupees paid per share. Installments can be labelled interim, final, second-interim or special, so read the type before adding any figures together.

Rupees per share is the clearest comparison measure. Older entries use a ₹10 face value, while later entries use a ₹1 face value. A percentage that looks larger or smaller after that change is not directly comparable across the entire series; the rupee amount reflects what one share received under that entry’s face-value regime.
How do I verify whether a dividend was proposed, approved or paid?
Look for the exact status language in the notice. A board-recommended or proposed final dividend is not the same as an approved dividend, and neither label by itself proves that money has reached your bank account.

For FY2023-24, the arithmetic combination of ₹5.15 interim and ₹28.15 final is ₹33.30 per share. For FY2025-26, ₹4.50 interim plus the proposed ₹23 final produces an arithmetic ₹27.50 per share before withholding, but that combined figure applies only if you were eligible for both installments and the final dividend’s approval and record-date conditions are satisfied.
How do I know whether I was eligible for an Asian Paints dividend?
The company’s record date determines which registered shareholders or beneficial owners qualify. Your holding on the payment date is not the test; your entitlement is established from the company’s shareholder, depository and registrar records for the record date.
- Copy the record date from the official notice, not from an unsourced calendar.
- Check your demat statement for the number of Asian Paints shares held on that date.
- If you held physical shares or your broker statement is incomplete, ask the company’s registrar for the recorded quantity.
- Confirm that your bank account, PAN, address and residency details were current in the depository or registrar record.
- Keep the notice and holding statement together, especially when a year contains more than one installment.
An exchange ex-dividend date can help with trade timing, but quote the company’s record date when explaining entitlement. The two dates serve different operational purposes, and the record date is the date used in the company’s dividend notice.
How do I calculate my gross Asian Paints dividend payout?
Use one multiplication for each installment: gross payout = eligible shares × dividend per share. If you received more than one installment in the same financial year, add the per-share amounts first or calculate each installment separately and then add the results.

- Take the rupee-per-share amount from the official history or notice.
- Confirm the record date and the number of eligible shares on that date.
- Multiply the eligible share count by the installment’s dividend per share.
- Repeat for any other installment in that same financial year.
- Add the installment totals to obtain the year’s gross amount.
Worked example using FY2025-26 figures
Suppose you had 100 eligible shares for both FY2025-26 installments. The interim calculation is 100 × ₹4.50 = ₹450. The proposed final calculation is 100 × ₹23 = ₹2,300. The arithmetic combined gross amount is therefore 100 × ₹27.50 = ₹2,750, before any withholding and subject to the final dividend’s approval and record-date conditions.
If ₹275 were withheld in an illustrative example, the cash credit would be ₹2,475. That ₹275 is only a demonstration of the subtraction; it is not a prediction of your applicable TDS rate.

How do I estimate the cash amount after TDS?
Start with the gross payout and subtract the TDS shown on the dividend advice: estimated cash credit = gross payout − TDS withheld. Asian Paints’ 2025 tax communication says dividends paid after 1 April 2020 are taxable in shareholders’ hands and describes the following withholding framework.
| Shareholder situation described in the tax communication | Withholding treatment stated there | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Other resident shareholder categories | 10% TDS under section 194 | Apply the conditions and documentation in the notice for the relevant financial year. |
| Resident individual whose dividend does not exceed ₹10,000 in a fiscal year | No deduction where the communication’s stated conditions are met | The ₹10,000 threshold and conditions can change; verify the applicable year’s notice. |
| PAN unavailable or invalid | Higher-rate treatment may apply | Ensure PAN details are valid in the depository or registrar record before payment processing. |
| Non-resident shareholder | 20% withholding language, plus applicable surcharge and cess | Treaty relief may be available when the required documentation is supplied. |
TDS is a withholding amount, not automatically your final tax liability. Your final tax treatment depends on your status, total income, applicable tax year and documentation. The company’s CFO and Company Secretary, R J Jeyamurugan, advises shareholders to consult their own tax advisers for the provisions applicable to them.

How should I calculate a year with interim, final or special dividends?
Keep installments tied to their financial year and label each one. The annual formula is annual gross payout = eligible shares × (interim DPS + final DPS + any other declared installment DPS), where DPS means dividend per share.
- Do not add an FY2024-25 final dividend to an FY2025-26 interim dividend simply because the payments occurred close together.
- Do not treat a special dividend as part of a recurring annual rate; record it as a separate installment.
- Use the actual number of eligible shares for each record date. A purchase, sale, transfer or corporate action can change eligibility between installments.
- Separate gross totals from cash received after TDS.
For example, FY2024-25’s reported ₹24.80 per share is an annual arithmetic total of the ₹4.25 interim and ₹20.55 final. FY2023-24’s ₹33.30 arithmetic total similarly combines ₹5.15 and ₹28.15. These totals do not establish a future rate.

The 2025 annual-report shareholder section reports ₹16,282.38 crore in cumulative dividends paid over the preceding ten years. That is a company-level cash total across all eligible shareholders, not the amount received by an individual investor and not a guaranteed return on a particular shareholding.
To estimate your own amount, use your eligible share count and the per-share figure for the relevant installment. Do not divide the company-wide crore figure by your shares or use it as a substitute for the payout-history table.

How can I reconcile a dividend that should already have been paid?
Use the payment date as the point at which to begin reconciliation, remembering that notices may say payment will occur “on or after” a date. Direct credit, NACH and NEFT are among the remittance methods described in the company’s tax communication.
- Compare the payment schedule with your bank statement, allowing for an “on or after” date rather than expecting a guaranteed same-day credit.
- Check the dividend advice or broker ledger for the gross amount and TDS deduction.
- Match the number of eligible shares against your demat or registrar statement.
- Verify that bank, PAN and residency details were correct when the company or depository supplied data for tax compliance.
- If the records still disagree, contact the registrar using the investor-page instructions and provide the folio or demat details requested.
What mistakes most often produce the wrong payout estimate?
- Using a percentage alone: face value changed from ₹10 in older entries to ₹1 in later entries, so compare rupees per share.
- Combining different years: payments made in the same calendar period can belong to different financial years.
- Treating a proposal as cash already due: a proposed final dividend still needs the stated approval and eligibility conditions.
- Counting shares bought after the record date: only the eligible quantity recorded for that date qualifies.
- Ignoring installment labels: interim, final, second-interim and special dividends have separate records and dates.
- Subtracting a guessed tax rate: TDS depends on shareholder category, PAN and documents; use the amount actually shown on the advice.
- Relying on a secondary table without checking the notice: secondary data may omit status or date qualifications.
- Assuming a scheduled date means a completed credit: reconcile the bank or registrar record after the payment window opens.
How should I monitor future Asian Paints dividends?
Save the latest investor-page notice whenever a dividend is announced. Record the financial year, installment type, DPS, announcement date, record date, payment date and status in a spreadsheet, then update the eligible share count from your demat statement. Before relying on a forecast, recheck the newest notice because dividend amounts, approval status, dates and tax rules can change.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I check an Asian Paints dividend that was never claimed?
The Investor page also exposes unclaimed-dividend records. Use the instructions there with your folio or depository details, and make sure your bank and contact information match the registrar’s records before submitting a claim.
Is a proposed final dividend guaranteed income?
No. A proposal remains conditional until the approval specified in the company’s notice occurs, and you must also meet the record-date eligibility test. Keep it separate from amounts already marked as paid in your records.
What documents should I keep for a dividend tax reconciliation?
Retain the company’s dividend advice, your demat or registrar holding statement, the bank credit entry and the TDS amount shown for that payment. These records let you reconcile the gross declaration, withholding and cash received without relying on a secondary history table.
