How can the theme be understood?
The four parts of the theme connect unity and sovereignty with people’s prosperity and national progress. In his July 23 launch remarks, President Prabowo described the 80-year milestone as a long journey shaped by struggle and the sacrifices of the nation’s people. The official wording places those ideas together as an anniversary message; it does not, by itself, establish how each program or community interpreted them.

The official event reports connect the holiday to the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence and identify 2025 as the 80th anniversary. They do not provide a detailed account of the proclamation’s text, authorship, circumstances, international recognition or the conflicts that followed. August 17 is the national commemoration date; these event sources alone should not be taken to mean that every part of the independence process was completed that day.
