Paint price is only one part of the budget. If a premium formula reduces the number of coats or extends the interval before repainting, it can lower labor and material costs over the life of the surface. If the wall is rarely touched and already has a compatible, even finish, the extra performance may never be used.

When Cashmere is the right choice

Is Emerald really better than SuperPaint?

How much area does a gallon cover?

Why your actual coverage can be lower
- Porous drywall, bare wood or chalky masonry absorbs more coating.

A simple quantity calculation
Measure each wall’s width and height, subtract large openings, and add the surfaces to be painted. Buying enough paint from the same color batch helps avoid subtle variation. Keep a small amount for future touch-ups, but do not assume an unopened leftover can will remain the exact same color after a formula change.
Will Sherwin-Williams paint last longer?
