Fabric cuts for one Log Cabin Twist block
The published example uses gold, red, dark red, and beige print scraps. The quantities below make four repeated units, not one unit. Cut the listed dimensions from quilting fabric.
| Fabric | Cut for one block |
|---|---|
| Gold print | Four 2½ × 3-inch rectangles |
| Red print | Four 1½ × 3-inch rectangles and four 1½ × 4-inch rectangles |
| Dark red print | Four 1 × 5-inch rectangles |
| Beige print | Four 1½ × 3½-inch rectangles and four 1½ × 4½-inch rectangles |
These are the pattern’s fabric cuts; it does not specify a complete tools or notions list. A rotary cutter, ruler, cutting mat, sewing machine, thread, and iron are general quilting tools that can help with cutting and assembly, rather than additional pattern requirements.

The published pattern shows gold, red, dark red, and beige prints. If you substitute fabrics, preserve the roles of the four colors as distinct areas: a light and dark contrast helps the twisting strip sequence remain legible, while coordinating prints keep the block visually unified. These are design options, not alternate colorways or tested variations specified by the pattern.
