Maker Faire Tokyo 2025 was a two-day public maker exhibition held October 4–5, 2025, at Tokyo Big Sight’s West Hall 4. The organizer confirmed that the event had concluded on October 5. Visitors could explore maker exhibits and demonstrations, attend stage presentations, and join workshops; the ticket prices below are historical 2025 prices, not current offers.

What was Maker Faire Tokyo?

Maker Faire Tokyo brought together people showing and demonstrating projects, with visitors able to ask creators about their work. The official Maker Faire Tokyo 2025 English event page describes Maker Faire as “a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement,” and says, “It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.” That is the organizer’s framing of the event.

The official overview points to technologies such as card-sized educational computers, 3D printers, and AI, as well as creative work using varied materials. Archived examples from the Maker Faire Yearbook include an original transforming toy, a wearable white Tyrannosaurus costume made from corrugated plastic board, and a planetary-gear wreath. These examples illustrate the range of projects; they are not a complete exhibitor list.

What could visitors see and do?

The program mixed informal browsing with activities that had their own schedules. The organizer’s 2025 program listed stage presentations and participatory workshops, including soldering, robotics-car programming, programming activities, craft workshops, and a cardboard-making activity.

Format What it offered
Exhibits and demonstrations Maker projects to view and demonstrations to watch, with opportunities to ask creators questions at their booths.
Stage sessions Scheduled presentations listed in the official program.
Hands-on activities Workshops and participatory activities, including soldering, programming, robotics-car activities, and crafts; availability and timing depended on the published program.

For children and families, listed activities included a children’s maker newspaper and craft-oriented workshops. Student makers had a separate spotlight through the Young Maker Challenge awards ceremony. The program described approximately 50 student-maker groups as eligible exhibitors for that challenge; this is not an overall exhibitor count. Judging considered technical level, originality, enthusiasm for turning ideas into reality, and willingness to take on challenges.

The event site grouped exhibitors into categories including kids and families, robotics, mobility, Young Makers, and company clubs. Its program guide—with venue layout, stage events, and workshop information—was published October 1, 2025; exhibitor information was published August 28, 2025.

When and where was it held?

Maker Faire Tokyo 2025 took place at Tokyo Big Sight, West Hall 4, 3-11-1 Ariake, Koto City, Tokyo. The organizer was Impress Corporation.

Is there a Maker Faire Tokyo 2026?

In its October 6, 2025, thank-you notice, the organizer said the two-day 2025 event had ended and listed September 5–6, 2026, as the planned dates for the next edition. Because those dates are a future plan announced in 2025, check the organizer’s Maker Faire Tokyo home page for current confirmation before making plans. The official sources reviewed do not state a total attendance figure or an event-wide exhibitor count.
