Pink is a versatile quilting palette, not one fixed shade—and available evidence does not establish it as a measured, industry-wide quilting trend. Treat it as a color direction to explore: compare pink fabrics by lightness, intensity, warm or cool cast, print scale, and contrast with the rest of your quilt.
Is pink a quilting trend?
Pink is visible in quilting-related fabric collections and community conversations, but those examples show relevance and interest—not how common pink is across the quilting market. No trustworthy published statistic in the available sources establishes pink’s share of quilting fabrics, quilt sales, or quilter preferences.
There is adjacent color-forecasting evidence: Pantone’s September 11, 2025 announcement for its New York Spring/Summer 2026 report says it includes ten standout colors and six seasonless shades. A result for the London report names PANTONE 14-1910 TCX Tickled Pink. Those are fashion-color references, not a quilting survey or proof that pink is “the” 2026 quilting trend. In quilting-specific examples, QT Fabrics has a catalog result called “Pretty in Pink,” Riley Blake Designs’ “Quilt In Color” storyboard describes a color-focused collection, and quilters ask about finding neon pink fabric and matching solids. These are useful signs that pink is a practical palette question, not a measure of market momentum.

What kinds of pink can you use in a quilt?
Pink spans near-neutral pale shades, clear mid-tones, and vivid brights. Named references can help describe the range, but they do not guarantee a match to fabric. Pantone’s Fashion, Home + Interiors color finder identifies Pink Power as 16-2118 TCX; other named references include Pink Carnation (16-2124 TPG), Dawn Pink (15-2205 TPG), Primrose Pink (12-2904 TPG), and Pink-a-boo (13-2801 TPG). Think of these as color vocabulary rather than a fabric-shopping specification.
When comparing candidate pink quilting fabrics, assess five things together:

- Value: How light or dark is the pink relative to the other fabrics? A broad light-to-dark range can make shapes easier to distinguish; fabrics of similar value may blend even when their hues differ.
- Saturation: Is the pink muted or vivid? A neon pink can command attention, while a softer pink may sit more quietly in the palette.
- Temperature: Does the pink lean warm or cool? A warm-leaning pink and a blue- or purple-leaning pink can feel quite different beside the same companion colors.
- Print scale: Are the motifs tiny, medium, or large? Consider whether the scale will read clearly in the size of the pieces you plan to cut.
- Contrast and emphasis: Which fabric should stand out, and which should support it? Judge the pink alongside the actual lights, darks, prints, and solids you expect to use.
How do you coordinate pink with other quilt fabrics?
Color relationships are tools for shaping an effect, not rules that identify one universally correct palette. Pantone describes monochromatic, analogous, and complementary harmonies; each offers a different starting point for comparing pink with companion colors.

For one Pantone example, Pink Power appears in a harmony with Carnelian and Cyclamen. That is a warm-to-purple comparison to consider, not a prescribed quilt palette. Test any proposed combination with the particular prints and solids you plan to use.

How can you check a pink fabric before committing?
A screen image or printed color reference is not a dependable substitute for seeing fabric when an exact shade matters. Pantone warns on its Pink Power color-finder page: “Before using, understand that the colors shown on this site are computer simulations and may not match PANTONE-identified color standards.” A Pantone screen chip therefore does not guarantee a match to quilting cotton.
- Compare the actual fabrics together. Look at the pink beside the other prints and solids intended for the quilt, rather than judging it in isolation.
- Check the intended pieces. Consider whether the print scale and contrast will remain legible in the shapes you plan to cut.
- Inspect physical fabric or a swatch when precision matters. A named color can guide the search, but the fabric itself is the relevant match.
What should you search for?
For the most direct product search, try pink quilting cotton or pink fat-quarter bundle. If you need a standout accent, search for neon pink fabric; if you are assembling a palette, try matching pink solids. These are useful search phrases, not a guarantee that a particular shade, listing, or bundle is currently available. A Pantone pink swatch or Fashion, Home + Interiors guide is an optional reference for naming colors, not a requirement for making a quilt.
