It is not the pumpkin-frame project: it uses a small hula hoop, a doily, string, ribbon or trim, and faux fall florals. Gather the materials
- A crochet or lace doily, ideally a little smaller than the hoop so it can stretch across the opening. A thrifted or already-owned doily can work.
- A small hula hoop or similar hoop.
- String for tying the doily to the hoop.
- Ribbon or trim for wrapping the hoop and making hanging tails.
- Faux fall florals and a hot glue gun with glue for the finishing details.
Build the hanging
- Tie lengths of string to the doily’s outer scallops.
- Temporarily secure the strings to the hoop. Adjust the doily until it is centered and has even tension, then tie it around the hoop.
- Wrap ribbon around the hoop and secure the ribbon ends with hot glue.
- Cut ribbon, lace or twine into tails and attach them to the lower part of the hoop with lark’s-head (cow-hitch) knots.
- Arrange faux fall florals and attach them with hot glue.
