What was cited as support for the gains?
Business Today attributed the positive tone to supportive global cues, easing crude prices and company Q2 business updates. The report said Brent crude had eased below $100 per barrel. It also noted geopolitical tensions and tighter global financial conditions as risks. These are explanations offered for the market backdrop; they do not establish that any single factor caused the rise.
Sunny Agrawal, Deputy Vice President – Fundamental Research at SBI Securities, said: “Market gained for the 2nd consecutive session as global cues remained supportive.” Ajit Mishra, SVP – Research at Religare Broking, also pointed to softer crude and Q2 updates as supportive and urged a selective, stock-specific approach amid global macro risks.

What levels did the analyst identify?
Mishra’s technical view in the October 6 report placed near-term Nifty support at 22,600–22,400 and immediate resistance at 22,800–22,850, with a broader resistance zone of 23,000–23,200. These were levels attributed to Mishra at publication, not a current forecast or a guarantee of where the index would trade.
Was the RBI policy decision announced?
The report described the RBI Monetary Policy Committee decision as expected on Wednesday, October 7, and said investors would watch the central bank’s assessment of growth, inflation and the broader outlook. The October 6 report does not establish the policy outcome. It should not be read as confirmation of a repo-rate decision, policy stance or announcement; those require a verified RBI release.
