Choose a warm, personal image with a Diwali greeting, then check that any year printed on it matches the occasion. Lamps and rangoli are familiar visual choices, and a short message—personalized with the recipient’s name—can make the greeting feel more individual.
Choose an image that fits your greeting
Diwali is widely known as the festival of lights. India’s official tourism site describes themes of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance, alongside practices such as lighting diyas, making rangoli, gathering with family and sharing sweets. Incredible India’s Diwali overview and the Indian government’s Utsav page also make clear that observances vary. Use these motifs as inspiration, not as a claim that every person celebrates in the same way.

Check the year and date on seasonal designs
In 2026, Diwali is listed as Sunday, November 8, by Incredible India and the High Commission of India in London. The date changes from year to year with the lunar calendar, as Utsav explains. If an image includes a date or year, verify it before sending or reposting; local observance dates may differ.
