Shuffles by Pinterest is a free mobile collage and digital-art app for iPhone and Android. Unlike a traditional photo-grid maker, it focuses on cutting objects from images, layering them freely, adding motion and effects, and sharing or remixing the result. You need a Pinterest account to use it, and regional availability may vary.

What is the Shuffles app?
Shuffles is Pinterest’s dedicated app for making layered visual compositions. Pinterest’s main app is primarily for discovering and saving ideas; Shuffles is designed for creating them. An individual creation is called a Shuffle.

Pinterest has described Shuffles as a standalone app, but “standalone” refers to the separate app experience—not an independent account system. Shuffles uses a Pinterest account for login and identity.

Its defining strength is expressive composition. Instead of placing six rectangular photos into a fixed grid, you can isolate a shoe, chair, flower, person, or product, then rotate, resize, overlap, and animate it independently.

The exact labels can change between app releases, but Pinterest’s documented workflow is:
- Sign in with Pinterest. If you do not have an account, Shuffles can prompt you to create one.
- Tap the central Plus icon to begin a new Shuffle.
- Add images or cutouts. Use your device’s image library, camera, or available image elements.
- Remove backgrounds and isolate objects. A cutout can become an independent layer.
- Arrange the composition. Move, rotate, resize, and stack layers until the layout works.
- Add motion and effects. Depending on the current version, available tools may include animation, filters, frames, templates, effects, and keyframe animation.
- Tap the arrow in the upper-right corner to continue to sharing options.
- Choose visibility. Save the Shuffle privately or publish it according to the available sharing settings.
- Add a description and hashtags if you are publishing publicly, then post or save the creation.
You can also favorite a cutout for later use: open a Shuffle, tap the cutout, and select the favorite control. This is useful for building a reusable collection of clothing, furniture, decorative objects, stickers, or personal assets.

How to save, share, or export a Shuffle
Open the Shuffle from your profile and use the sharing or options controls. Depending on the current interface, Pinterest provides options such as:
- Share Link to Shuffle: sends people to the creation inside Shuffles.
- External sharing: sends the creation to another app or service.
- Export: creates a local output file when the option is available.
- Download Wallpaper: saves a phone-oriented version for use as wallpaper.
A wallpaper download is not automatically the same thing as a press-ready or poster-quality export. The final result may be limited by the canvas, source-image resolution, app compression, or recompression by another social platform. For important print work, keep the original images and do not treat a Shuffles download as your only master file.

Is Shuffles free?
Shuffles is listed as a free download in the US App Store listing reviewed for this article. The reviewed listings did not show a conventional subscription price or paid tier. That does not prove that every feature, asset, or future export option will remain free, so check the current store listing before installing.
As of the store snapshots reviewed in August 2026, the US listings showed approximately 4.8 stars from 43,000 iOS ratings and 4.7 stars from more than 35,000 Android reviews, with 1M+ Android downloads. Ratings, download counts, app size, pricing labels, and update dates are volatile and should be treated as dated storefront information rather than permanent specifications.
Does Shuffles work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Pinterest’s current Help Center describes Shuffles as available on iOS and Android mobile devices.
- iPhone: the US App Store listing requires iOS 16.0 or later. Download Shuffles from the official App Store listing.
- Android: Shuffles is published by Pinterest on Google Play. The reviewed listing did not specify one universal minimum Android version, so check compatibility on your device’s listing. Download Shuffles from Google Play.
Availability can differ by country. If you cannot find the app, confirm that you are searching for Shuffles by Pinterest, check your country’s official store, and verify your operating-system version. Do not use third-party APK sites or unofficial download pages.
Pinterest currently describes Shuffles as a mobile-device experience, not as a normal desktop or web creation tool. If you need browser or desktop editing, choose an alternative designed for that workflow.
Privacy and Pinterest-account considerations
The Pinterest connection is the most important thing to understand before signing up. Shuffles uses Pinterest authentication and the same broader Pinterest identity infrastructure. This is convenient if you already use Pinterest, but it means Shuffles is not a completely separate creative account.
Public, private, and shared are different
You can keep a collage private, share it with selected people, or publish it publicly, subject to the app’s current settings and age-related controls. Before uploading personal photos or unfinished work, check:
- Whether the Shuffle is set to public or private
- Whether it is shared with selected people
- Whether Auto post Pinterest is enabled
- Whether other users can comment, react, share, or remix it
- Whether the images reveal faces, addresses, documents, or other private information
Public Shuffles may also appear publicly on your Pinterest profile unless you opt out of the relevant setting. Public or shared creations may be used as the basis for remixes within the app, depending on their visibility and sharing controls.
Apple’s App Store privacy section reports that Pinterest may collect or link categories such as identifiers, usage data, contact information, search and browsing history, contacts, and coarse location, depending on the stated purpose. Be careful with account deletion
Pinterest’s Help Center says deleting the Shuffles account also deletes the connected Pinterest account and associated Pinterest data, and describes the deletion as permanent. If you want to stop using Shuffles but keep Pinterest, do not begin account deletion without first checking the current account-management instructions. Preserve important creations and data beforehand.

Common problems and fixes
The app is missing from the store
Search the official Apple App Store or Google Play listing for Shuffles by Pinterest and confirm that Pinterest is the developer. Then check regional availability, device compatibility, and operating-system requirements. Desktop browsers and third-party APK stores are not substitutes for the official mobile listing.
Login fails
Shuffles uses Pinterest authentication. Confirm your Pinterest credentials, update both apps, and use the account-creation path if you do not yet have Pinterest. Avoid creating multiple accounts casually because your profile identity and creations are linked.
A Shuffle was published publicly by mistake
- Open your profile and select the Shuffle.
- Open the lower-right options control.
- Change the privacy setting.
- Check the account setting that controls automatic Pinterest posting.
Review both the Shuffle’s visibility and the auto-post setting; changing one does not necessarily answer every sharing concern.

Use the app’s export or download control instead of a screenshot, retain your original source files, and test the result at its intended destination size. A phone-wallpaper canvas, low-resolution source image, app rasterization, or social-platform recompression can affect the result.
Is Shuffles worth using?
Shuffles is worth trying if you want quick, expressive, cutout-based collages; Pinterest-linked inspiration; animated compositions; mood boards; wallpapers; or collaborative and remixable visual projects. Its freeform layers make it substantially different from a standard grid collage app.
It is a weaker choice if you need desktop editing, exact print dimensions, advanced typography, brand kits, batch production, extensive retouching, guaranteed professional export controls, or an account completely separate from a social platform.
