The xTool F2 Ultra UV is a 5 W, 355 nm laser engraver aimed at glass, crystal, and fine-detail work—not a metal-cutting machine. Its published specifications include a 200 × 200 mm working area, while its FAQ lists a smaller maximum effective volume for inner engraving inside glass. Those figures are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance tests.
What the xTool F2 Ultra UV is designed to do
xTool positions the F2 Ultra UV for glass customization and detailed engraving, including engraving within glass and crystal. Its product page also describes high-speed production and workflows without pretreatment; those are company claims, not independently verified guarantees of finish, throughput, or business return. See xTool’s product page.
The most important distinction is the laser source and the work you need to do. The F2 Ultra UV is not interchangeable with the separately named F2 Ultra MOPA or diode versions. xTool’s comparison says the UV model does not cut metal, while the other variants use different laser sources and have different material capabilities. Check the suffix and laser type on the exact machine’s listing and documentation before relying on a review or specification.

Specifications and what they mean in practice
| Specification | xTool’s published information | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Laser | 5 W UV; 355 ± 5 nm | Manufacturer specification, not an independent output measurement. |
| Working area | 200 × 200 mm internal working area | This is the stated work area; it is not the usable volume for engraving inside glass. |
| Glass inner engraving | Maximum effective volume of 70 × 70 × 150 mm | An FAQ-stated limit, not a promise that every object shape or glass type will fit or engrave successfully. |
| Maximum processing speed | 15,000 mm/s | A manufacturer-stated maximum, not a guaranteed job time or quality level. |
| Connections | Wi-Fi, USB, IP | Check software and version requirements for your intended setup. |
| Voltage | 110 V / 220 V | Confirm regional configuration and included power accessories. |
The model number in xTool’s user guide is MXF-K007-001. The guide was updated September 18, 2026; confirm that it matches the machine and region you are considering: xTool F2 Ultra UV User Guide.
Is it suitable for your material and project?
Glass and crystal
Inner engraving in glass and crystal is a central use case. The FAQ gives the maximum effective inner-engraving volume as 70 × 70 × 150 mm. Treat that as a stated capacity boundary, not a guarantee for every vessel, blank, or design. The 200 × 200 mm working-area figure refers to a different kind of measurement.

- xTool F2 Ultra Single is a Class 4 laser engraver, the fiber laser output power being 60,000mW
Other materials and processes
xTool’s FAQ discusses engraving and cutting across different materials, but broad material lists do not mean every material can be cut or engraved with the same settings or setup. Confirm the recommended process and parameters for the exact material, then test settings before committing to finished work. For a specific material question, consult the xTool F2 Ultra UV FAQ.
Metal
Do not choose the UV model on the assumption that it cuts metal: xTool’s product comparison explicitly says it does not. If metal marking, embossing, or cutting is your priority, compare the exact MOPA or diode model’s documented capabilities instead. The variants are distinct machines, not alternate names for the UV model.

Choose the setup around the workflow
xTool lists several compatible accessories in its FAQ. Compatibility does not by itself establish suitability for every material, job, or installation, so verify the exact accessory and task before purchase.
| Workflow need | Accessories xTool lists | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Cylindrical or rotary work | RA3, RA2 Pro, and RA2 rotary attachments | Check compatibility with the exact machine and intended task. |
| Surface batch work | Auto Streamline Conveyor | The FAQ says it cannot be used at the same time as inner engraving. |
| Air handling | AP2 purifier; IF2 and IF2 2.0 inline fans | The FAQ lists compatibility, but does not establish one ventilation configuration for every material or workshop. |
| Workshop controls and safety | Switches and a fire safety set | Follow the safety instructions for the exact regional model and installation. |
Safety depends on the exact regional model
Read the safety documents supplied for the machine you will operate; do not treat laser-class labels from different regional guides as interchangeable. The US-facing user guide identifies model MXF-K007-001 as a “Class 1 Laser Device.” By contrast, xTool’s EU & UK safety page identifies model MXF-K007-003 as a Class 4 working laser, with Class 3B and Class 3R indicator lasers. That page calls for trained professional operation, an appointed Laser Safety Officer, safety controls, and appropriate protective equipment. It also warns that radiation may escape openings if the enclosure is lifted during operation. See the EU & UK safety instructions.

The FAQ says goggles are not included. It recommends goggles that cover the 355 nm wavelength band with optical density (OD) 5 or higher. Verify the stated wavelength coverage and OD on the selected eyewear, and follow the protection requirements in the applicable safety documentation; a generic “laser safety” label is not enough to establish suitability.
Operating conditions and setup checks
xTool’s FAQ lists an operating environment of +10°C to +30°C and 10%–60% relative humidity, and recommends limiting each continuous operating period to no more than eight hours. These are manufacturer guidelines; consult current documentation for the exact unit.

Who should consider the F2 Ultra UV?
It is a plausible candidate for a maker or workshop whose priority is glass or crystal engraving and fine detail, provided the work fits its documented area and inner-engraving limits and the operator can meet the applicable safety requirements. It is a poor fit if the essential job is cutting metal. For mixed-material work, decide from the documented capability of the exact model and process rather than the shared “F2 Ultra” name.
