For an evergreen Vietnam National Day banner or poster, build around September 2 and an accurately proportioned national flag: red, with a centered five-pointed golden star, at a width-to-length ratio of 2:3. The 80th-anniversary logo approved for Vietnam’s 2025 campaign is date-specific; it is not a general-purpose identity for 2026 or later, and its approval does not grant public reuse rights.
What belongs in an evergreen National Day design?
Vietnam’s Constitution designates September 2, 1945, as National Day and describes the national flag as a red field with a centered five-pointed golden star, in a 2:3 width-to-length ratio. The Constitution, Chapter XI, Articles 141 and 145, is the primary reference for those details.
Use the date and flag as the reliable core of a reusable background. Fireworks, flags on streets, and festive scenes can add a sense of occasion, but they are illustrative choices rather than mandatory motifs. The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism describes these kinds of National Day commemorations and names Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang as visitor destinations. Its National Day overview can inform atmosphere without making one city or scene stand in for every celebration.

- Set the proportions first. Make the flag’s length one and a half times its height. For example, a 900-unit-wide flag should be 600 units high.
- Use a red field and a gold five-pointed star. Center the star within the flag; keep its points clear and recognizable at the final display size.
- Fit the flag into the layout without distorting it. If a wide banner needs more horizontal space, extend the background or add separate design elements rather than stretching the flag.
- Check the finished artwork at actual output size. Confirm that the star remains legible and the date and any Vietnamese text are spelled correctly, including diacritics.
The Constitution uses “golden” to describe the star. For its 2025 anniversary-logo specifications, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism listed the flag red as CMYK C0 M100 Y100 K0 and the star yellow as CMYK C0 M0 Y100 K0. These are values from that campaign’s technical note, not a broader color standard established here. Read the Ministry’s approval notice and specifications.

Should you use the 2025 anniversary logo?
Only use it when the design is specifically about the 80th anniversary campaign and the rights holder has authorized reproduction. On July 4, 2025, the Ministry approved Tô Minh Trang’s logo for official use in propaganda activities commemorating the 80th anniversary. The artwork depicts Hồ Chí Minh reading the Declaration of Independence at Ba Đình Square and includes a red flag, star, microphone, and the anniversary dates. The notice establishes approval for that stated campaign; it does not set out general licensing terms or grant the public permission to reuse the logo.
The Ministry’s technical note says the logo was drawn as vector art in CorelDRAW 12 and provides color and text specifications. Its anniversary dates make it unsuitable as a default identity for an evergreen background. In 2026, a Government of Vietnam account described that year’s observance as the 81st anniversary, further underscoring why “80th” should not carry forward automatically. The Government’s September 1, 2026 interview discusses that observance.
