The 2025 Fremantle International Street Arts Festival ran from Friday 18 to Monday 21 April, with Haribow, Imagicario and Torpeza Ritmika highlighted as making their Australian debuts. Compagnie Bilbobasso’s Amor was a separate premiere: it was new to Western Australia, not to Australia. The festival took place across multiple Fremantle pitches and was described by organisers as free and family-friendly.
Which acts made their Australian debut?
PerthNow’s 7 March 2025 report identified three acts arriving in Australia for the first time. Their performance styles ranged from Double Dutch to stilt-puppet theatre and clowning.

How was Amor’s premiere different?
French company Compagnie Bilbobasso presented Amor, a fire-filled show blending tango and pyrotechnics. Visit Fremantle described it as the company’s first appearance in Western Australia. That makes it a WA premiere, not one of the three Australian debuts. Performer Delphine Dartus told PerthNow, “We’re thrilled to be coming to WA and to this incredible festival,”.
When and where was the festival?
The festival ran over the Easter long weekend, Friday 18 through Monday 21 April 2025. The archived official schedule shows performances spread among multiple pitches, rather than gathered on one stage. For example, Friday’s program listed Haribow at the FOMO Pitch and Torpeza Ritmika at the Esplanade Park Pitch. The program covered four days; check the archived schedule for individual set times and locations.

What should visitors know about the event?
The festival’s official FAQ described it as free and family-friendly. The 2025 edition marked 25 years, according to PerthNow; the festival’s own site and FAQ say it has welcomed street theatre to Fremantle/Walyalup since 1999. The official site acknowledges the Whadjuk people as Traditional Owners.
The official FAQ names the Esplanade Hotel Fremantle by Rydges and the National Hotel as accommodation-package partners. That current FAQ does not establish the terms or availability of packages for the 2025 festival.
