Adobe Photoshop on the web is not a free full editor for your own photos: Adobe says you need a Photoshop plan or free trial to upload and edit them. You can explore guided tutorials without an account, and Photoshop on the web is included with Photoshop plans. It runs in supported desktop browsers, with work saved as cloud documents.
Is Photoshop online free?
Adobe’s Help Center says, “There isn’t a free version of Photoshop on the web.” It also says, “To upload and edit your own photos, sign up for a Photoshop plan or start a free trial.” Adobe does offer guided tutorials that you can explore without an account, but those are not a free full editor.
Photoshop on the web is included in all Photoshop plans, according to Adobe. A free trial is a separate access route; check Adobe’s current plan and trial terms before signing up. Adobe’s reviewed materials do not establish a price for a particular plan.

How do I access Photoshop online?
- Open Adobe’s official Photoshop online page.
- Sign in with an Adobe account that has a Photoshop plan, or follow Adobe’s current free-trial option.
- Open an existing cloud document or create a new one in Photoshop on the web.
- Edit in the browser. Your work saves as a cloud document, which you can open in desktop Photoshop or download as an image file.
Can I use Photoshop in my browser?
Yes. Photoshop on the web provides a streamlined browser interface with many common Photoshop editing tools. It does not include every desktop feature; Adobe directs users to open a cloud document in desktop Photoshop for advanced workflows.
For many everyday edits, the web app may be enough. If your work depends on a feature that is not available in the browser, continue in desktop Photoshop.

Adobe’s technical-requirements page lists these supported browsers and system specifications. Safari on Mac is listed as beta, so check Adobe’s current requirements before relying on it.

Can I use Photoshop on my phone?
Adobe says editing requires a non-mobile web browser. On a mobile browser, you may be able to view and comment on cloud documents, but you cannot edit them. For iPad editing, Adobe suggests using the Photoshop iPad app.
What happens to my files?
Photoshop on the web saves your work as cloud documents. You can open those documents in desktop Photoshop or download them as image files, according to Adobe’s Photoshop on the web FAQ.

Photoshop on the web will not open or edit
Confirm that you are using a supported desktop browser and that your account has access through a Photoshop plan or trial. Adobe warns that private or incognito browsing, enterprise storage quotas, and Chrome’s setting to delete data when all windows close can prevent the app from operating. Check your browser’s storage settings and Adobe’s published requirements.

I can view a document on mobile but cannot edit it
That is expected: Adobe says mobile browsers can view and comment on cloud documents but do not support editing. Use a supported desktop browser, or use the Photoshop iPad app for iPad editing.
