Those figures describe Creality’s specifications and claims—not independently verified performance. Whether it suits your project depends on the material and thickness you need to process, your software setup, and your ability to operate a Class IV laser safely.

This review is specifically about the Falcon2 22W. Creality also lists 12W and 40W versions, so specifications and material settings for another wattage should not be assumed to apply to this model. Speed and air assist: advertised workflow, not a performance test
Creality advertises engraving speeds of up to 25,000 mm/min. That is a maximum manufacturer claim, not evidence of the speed or finish a user should expect for a particular image, material, or job. The available information does not specify a tested workload or independent measurement, so treat the figure as a stated capability rather than a throughput guarantee.

The machine has integrated air assist. Creality says users can adjust airflow manually with the machine’s knob and that airflow can also be adjusted through LightBurn. Air assist is part of the advertised workflow; it does not by itself establish a particular cut depth or edge quality.
Which materials can it work with?
Creality’s materials guide lists engraving or cutting uses for several nonmetal materials, including wood, bamboo, slate, cardboard, leather, fabric, paperboard, felt, ceramics, and acrylic. It also lists engraving stainless steel, anodized aluminum, and painted metal. This is the manufacturer’s broad materials guidance, not a guarantee for every material formulation, coating, color, or thickness.

Material choice is also a safety decision. Creality warns against PVC and materials containing chlorine, chloride, or phenolic resin because they may release harmful fumes. It also advises against processing materials whose composition is unknown. Consult Creality’s material guide before using a material, and ensure your work area has suitable smoke and fume management.
Example settings are starting points
Creality’s parameter guide includes example power, speed, and pass settings, but these have not been independently reproduced here. For example, it lists a 2 mm basswood engraving starting point of 40% power at 6,000 mm/min for one pass, and a 3 mm walnut plywood setting of 35% power at 6,000 mm/min for one pass. Actual results can vary with the material, focus, ventilation, and machine condition. Treat the values as manufacturer examples, not assured outcomes.

Software and job setup
Creality lists LightBurn and LaserGRBL, along with Windows and macOS operation. It also describes offline work from a TF card and an offline positioning preview. These are manufacturer-stated capabilities; software releases, operating-system support, and licensing details can change, so verify the current requirements for the software and computer you plan to use.
A practical buying check is to confirm that your intended design workflow can export a supported file and that you can prepare jobs in the software version compatible with your operating system. Creality’s guide lists common image and vector formats, but current software support should be checked rather than assumed from a product-page statement.

Safety features and operating environment
Creality describes airflow, lens, and flame monitoring, as well as bidirectional limit switches, an active stop, a security-lock design, an emergency-stop button, and a laser protective cover. These are maker-described features, not proof that operation is risk-free. The official guide classifies the unit as Class IV; follow the current manual and appropriate laser-protection and ventilation practices, and remain attentive during operation.
Before choosing this machine, make sure you have a suitable workspace and a plan for managing fumes from the materials you intend to process. The listed monitoring and stop features should be understood as safeguards within that setup, not substitutes for safe material selection and responsible operation.
Is the Falcon2 22W worth considering?
It may merit consideration if Creality’s stated 400 × 415 mm work area, 22W configuration, named software options, and listed materials align with your intended projects. It is a poor fit if you need independently confirmed cutting performance for a specific material or thickness, because the manufacturer’s example settings and maximum speed do not establish those results.
- Match the exact 22W model to your expected materials and work size; do not transfer claims from the 12W or 40W variants.
- Check current operating-system and software compatibility for your computer.
- Review material composition and reject PVC, chlorine- or chloride-containing materials, phenolic resin, and unknown materials in line with Creality’s warning.
- Plan for safe operation of a Class IV laser, including appropriate protection and fume management.
- Seek test evidence under conditions comparable to your own project before relying on a particular cut depth, finish, reliability expectation, or comparative value.
