Adobe ended new downloads of Photoshop Mix and Photoshop Fix on Android on May 1, 2024, and previously downloaded apps stopped operating on June 4, 2024. Adobe said projects would not migrate to Photoshop Express and would no longer be accessible through the apps or cloud after the cutoff. If you saved project files locally, Adobe says you can upload them to Photoshop Express to continue working; its reviewed guidance offers no post-cutoff recovery procedure for unsaved projects.
What Adobe discontinued
Photoshop Fix and Photoshop Mix were separate mobile apps. Fix focused on image retouching, while Mix supported combining and compositing images. Adobe’s end-of-support guidance covered Fix on iOS and Android and Mix on iOS; its individual Mix FAQ confirms the Android download cutoff as well.

What happened to saved projects?
Adobe said existing Fix and Mix projects would not migrate to Photoshop Express. After June 4, 2024, projects were no longer accessible through the apps or cloud. Before the cutoff, Adobe advised users to download projects to their device or camera roll. Locally saved files can be uploaded to Photoshop Express to continue creative work.

Adobe’s guidance does not provide a way to restore projects that were not saved locally before the cutoff. You may still have separate exports or device backups, but whether those exist depends on your own files and backups.
Check for saved copies
- Search your camera roll and any photo or file storage you used for exported copies.
- Check device and cloud backups for files saved before the cutoff.
- If you find locally saved files, try uploading them to Photoshop Express to continue working.
Photoshop Express as a replacement
Adobe identifies Photoshop Express as the app users can use to continue creative work with saved files. Adobe describes it as a mobile photo and video editor with editing, retouching, collage, and compositing tools. It is free to download, with premium features also available.

Photoshop Express is not a project-recovery service, and Adobe does not promise that every Fix or Mix feature or project structure is available in it. Adobe’s end-of-support FAQ specifically said there were no current plans to migrate Photoshop Mix technology to Photoshop Express on Android.

Can Photoshop Express recover an unsaved project?
