Andrea Landa es una diseñadora colombiana que convierte el cuero —material ligado a la marroquinería— en prendas de moda contemporánea mediante texturas, trabajo artesanal y siluetas diversas. Quién es Andrea Landa
Landa creció alrededor del taller de marroquinería de su madre en Medellín. Allí conoció de cerca el cuero y los procesos de oficio que hoy forman parte de su lenguaje de diseño, según la Embajada de Colombia en Rusia y el perfil publicado por People en Español.
La Embajada informa que estudió mercadeo y comunicación de moda en el Instituto Europeo de Diseño, en España, y se especializó en diseño de modas en el Instituto Marangoni de Londres. Esa formación se suma a una familiaridad temprana con la fabricación en cuero: su trabajo combina una mirada de diseño con técnicas asociadas a la marroquinería.

Cómo convierte el cuero en moda
En lugar de tratar el cuero únicamente como una superficie lisa, las prendas descritas en la cobertura editorial exploran su capacidad para formar pliegues, tejidos y texturas. People en Español destaca, por ejemplo, chaquetas y blazers Aguachica y Baranoa con tweed hecho al entrelazar a mano tiras de cuero. Es una lectura de las piezas ofrecida por el medio, no una evaluación técnica independiente.
La marca afirma que sus productos se elaboran a mano en su propio taller y que cada pieza involucra al menos cuatro artesanos. También atribuye a la empresa familiar más de 30 años de experiencia; esa cifra se refiere a la experiencia familiar que declara la marca, no necesariamente a la antigüedad de la etiqueta Andrea Landa. Las colecciones señaladas por People en Español muestran distintas maneras de llevar referencias culturales y formas de vestir al trabajo con cuero. El medio describe sus temas y recursos así:

- Zíngara: siluetas libres y amplias.
- We Grew Up With Folk Tales: inspiración en leyendas colombianas.
- Monocromo y Adoquines: una lectura de calles y arquitectura urbana a través de siluetas limpias, tonos monocromáticos y texturas. People en Español la presentó como la colección más reciente en su artículo del 19 de agosto de 2025; eso no establece cuál es la más reciente en la actualidad.
La marca también presenta Legacy como una extensión dedicada al legado artesanal. En la página oficial de esa colección, la torera Baranoa se describe como tejida a mano en tweed blanco y negro y confeccionada en cuero de borrego. La Embajada de Colombia documenta participaciones de Landa en Cali Exposhow, Colombiamoda, Caravana Americana en México, BCapital 2019 y Bogotá Fashion Week. En julio de 2024, presentó su trabajo en actos culturales en Moscú y Riazán. La nota institucional del 26 de julio de 2024 también atribuyó a la empresa más de 20 empleos, cifra que corresponde a ese reporte y no debe entenderse como un dato actualizado.
