Asian Paints rose on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, gaining 2.46% on the NSE to close at ₹2,424.20 and 2.03% on the BSE to close at ₹2,420.00. Both exchange-reported gains were larger than the Sensex’s 0.95% rise and the Nifty’s 0.98% advance. The market reports described a broad rebound but did not identify a company-specific trigger for Asian Paints’ move.

Yes, by percentage change during that session. The Sensex closed at 73,067.81, up 685.34 points or 0.95%, while the Nifty closed at 22,776.10, up 220.35 points or 0.98%, PTI reported in its 6 October market wrap. Asian Paints’ NSE gain was 1.51 percentage points above the Sensex’s rise and 1.48 points above the Nifty’s; those differences are arithmetic comparisons of reported daily returns.

PTI’s market wrap attributed the broader market rebound to lower crude prices and buying in banking shares and Reliance Industries. Brent crude fell 1.70% to USD 98.59 per barrel. The report named Asian Paints among the Sensex’s gainers, but it did not identify a specific company announcement or establish why the paint maker outperformed the benchmarks.

Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money, told PTI: “Indian equities extended their rebound for a second consecutive session on Tuesday, with benchmark indices closing higher as further decline in crude oil prices eased some of the macroeconomic pressure weighing on sentiment.” That comment addresses market-wide sentiment, not a verified cause of Asian Paints’ individual share-price move.
