FlipaClip does not currently have a verified native Windows 11 app, Windows installer, or Microsoft Store edition. FlipaClip’s official availability list names the Apple App Store, Google Play, Google Play’s “Add to Chromebook” option, Amazon Appstore, and Huawei AppGallery. It separately mentions Mac computers with an M chip, although that version is not fully optimized. Windows 11 is not listed as a supported download target.
If you want to use FlipaClip with a Windows 11 computer, the reliable official workflow is to create the animation on a supported phone or tablet, back up the project manually when needed, and export a movie for use on your PC. The guide below explains that workflow, the features you can use, and the claims about “FlipaClip for Windows” that should be treated cautiously.

Is FlipaClip available for Windows 11?
Not as an official native Windows application, based on FlipaClip’s current documentation. The official website currently provides download buttons for the App Store and Google Play, while the official availability page does not list Windows 11.
FlipaClip’s getting-started documentation describes the product as an app for smartphones and tablets. It does not provide a Windows-specific setup procedure, .exe installer, command-line installation, or Microsoft Store package. Therefore, do not assume that a website offering a “FlipaClip Windows 11 download” is an official source.
Bottom line: you can use Windows 11 as part of a FlipaClip workflow, but the official app itself is currently documented for mobile and tablet platforms—not as a native Windows 11 desktop program.

- Create and edit the project on a supported phone or tablet. FlipaClip’s documented menus and drawing tools are designed around the touch-stage interface.
- Back up the editable project manually. This preserves the
.fcproject file rather than only a flattened video. - Export a movie from FlipaClip. Choose MP4 for ordinary video use, GIF for silent looping animation, or PNG Sequence when you need individual frames and have the premium feature.
- Move the exported file or project backup to your Windows PC. You can store a backup in a service such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive, but FlipaClip itself does not provide automatic project syncing.
This approach is less convenient than a native Windows editor, but it avoids treating an unofficial installer or undocumented Windows setup as supported.
Before you start: project storage and backup
FlipaClip projects are stored locally on the device where they were created. Signing in to a FlipaClip account does not automatically save projects or transfer them to another device. A phone replacement, app deletion, storage cleanup, or device failure can therefore put the only copy at risk.
Back up a project
- Open the project list.
- Press and hold the project.
- Tap the share icon at the bottom.
- Tap Share Project.
- Save the resulting
.fcfile to Files or share it to a storage service.
Project importing is free, and a device will normally associate an .fc file with FlipaClip. Backup sharing is documented as a premium feature, although some users may see a rewarded-ad option that enables sharing.
Keep at least one copy outside the phone. FlipaClip does not provide its own backup cloud service. Low free storage can prevent drawings or project changes from being saved; the app initially keeps a substantial amount of animation data in memory or cache, and unsaved work may disappear when the app closes and that cache is cleared. Android cache-cleaner apps and manual deletion of FlipaClip files can also remove project data. Once required project files have been deleted, FlipaClip cannot recover them. Create a project and choose the frame rate
From FlipaClip’s home screen, tap the create button to make a new animation. Tap FPS, select the frame rate, and create the project.
FlipaClip’s current documented maximum is 30 FPS. Its help documentation describes 12 FPS as an industry-standard practice value, but that is guidance rather than a Windows-specific default. FPS means frames per second: a 12-FPS project uses 12 frames for one second, so a three-second animation contains 36 frames at that rate.

Change FPS in an existing project
- Open the project.
- Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Tap Project settings.
- Tap Choose frames per second.
- Select the new FPS value.
- Tap the check icon in the top-right corner.
- Test the animation, then tap Save Changes.
Changing FPS changes the timing of the project, so preview the result instead of assuming that the motion will feel identical at the new rate. The official FPS guidance is available in FlipaClip’s frame-rate documentation.
Layers: the main editing limitation to plan around
Open the layer panel by tapping the layers icon at the bottom-right of the stage. The number displayed on the layer icon identifies the currently selected layer. Tap the + button at the bottom of the panel to add a layer; the new layer appears above the selected one.

The frequently repeated claim that FlipaClip always provides 10 free layers is not consistent with the current official documentation.
Important layer operations
- Unlock drawing: if every layer is locked, drawing on the stage is disabled. Unlock the layer you intend to edit in the layer panel.
- Delete: swipe a layer from right to left, tap the trashcan, then tap remove. This removes that layer’s content from every frame and cannot be undone.
- Merge: press and hold one layer, drag it onto the layer you want to combine it with, and choose merge. Merging applies across all frames, is premium-only, and cannot be undone.
- Blend mode: open the layer panel, tap the right arrow on the layer, tap Normal, and choose a blend mode.
Video import creates a new layer named video. If the project has no available layer capacity, the video will not import. Review the current official layer instructions before deleting or merging anything.
Use Onion Skin and the drawing grid
Onion Skin
Onion Skin displays nearby frames while you draw, making it easier to maintain movement and spacing between drawings:
- On the stage, tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right.
- Tap Onion Skin.
- Tap edit for advanced settings.
Advanced controls include colored onion skinning, looping, the number of Frames Before and Frames After, transparency, and frame skipping. These settings are useful for checking a character’s previous and next poses without repeatedly switching frames. Details are in the Onion Skin documentation.
Grid
Tap the three-dot menu in the upper-right of the stage and toggle Grid. The grid is only a drawing guide; it does not appear in the final movie. Its settings include grid-line opacity, vertical-line spacing, and horizontal-line spacing. Grid snapping is available when the Pixel Effect layer is enabled. See the official grid guide.
Import images and video
Add an image
- On any frame’s stage, tap the three dots in the top-right.
- Select Add Image.
- Choose the image source.
- Use the selection tool to resize and reposition the image.
FlipaClip needs permission to access photos. If the image picker is empty or an image cannot be added, check the app’s photo or media permissions on the mobile device. The complete procedure is documented under adding images.
Add a video
- On the stage, tap the three dots in the top-right.
- Select Add Video.
- Choose the source and video.
- Trim the video.
- Tap the check mark to import it.
Video import always creates a new layer. This matters on the free layer limit: if there is not enough available capacity, the import fails.

Rotoscoping workflow
For a documented rotoscoping approach, import the video, lower the video layer’s opacity, add a new drawing layer, outline each frame, and use the Bucket Tool to add color. When finished, hide the original video layer. This workflow is described in FlipaClip’s rotoscoping guide.
Add audio and prepare sound for Windows
To add audio, tap the audio icon in the lower-left, tap the red plus icon, and choose one of three sources: a file from device storage, a new recording, or FlipaClip’s audio library. Supported formats are WAV, MP4, M4A, and MP3.
The documented track limit is six separate audio tracks on Android and eight on iOS. To record, tap the microphone icon, then press and hold the red microphone icon; release it to stop.
Trim and manage an audio clip
- Tap the clip once and drag either end handle to trim it.
- Drag beyond the original length to loop the audio.
- Tap the clip a second time to expose options to rename, duplicate, delete, or slice it.
Deleting frames or layers does not delete audio from the project. Personal audio is not necessarily free for every user: some users may receive a rewarded-ad option, while others need a FlipaClip Plus subscription. The current availability is explained in FlipaClip’s personal-audio help article.
If you export to GIF, the result will not contain audio. Use MP4 when sound must remain with the animation.

On a supported mobile or tablet device, open Main Menu → App Settings → Stage and enable Stylus pressure. Under Draw Input, choose either Stylus and touch or Stylus. Stylus Hover Preview can show the drawing tool’s effect before the stylus touches the canvas.
FlipaClip names Apple Pencil, SonarPen, and device-supplied styluses as supported examples, but compatibility depends on the particular device-and-stylus combination. The highlighter and eraser do not currently support pressure sensitivity. If an Apple Pencil works in other apps but not in FlipaClip, the documented first step is to restart the device fully. These settings should not be interpreted as Windows tablet support. The official documentation does not establish a native Windows 11 drawing-stage implementation.

FlipaClip’s shortcut article does not document Windows-specific hotkeys, mouse mappings, or command-line syntax. These shortcuts therefore should not be used as evidence that a full Windows desktop edition exists. Refer to the official shortcut list for the documented behavior.
Export a FlipaClip animation for use on Windows 11
- Open the animation project.
- Tap the Share icon in the toolbar, or tap the three-dot icon at the top-right and choose Make Movie.
- Adjust the movie settings.
- Tap Make a Movie.
After rendering, the movie is saved in FlipaClip’s Movies section on the home screen. You can then transfer the rendered file to your Windows PC.
Choose the correct export format

Export settings include Movie Name, Output Size, Format, Transparent Background, and FlipaClip Watermark. Output Size includes presets for platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Vimeo, as well as custom dimensions.
Transparent Background works only with GIF or PNG Sequence and overrides the background selected in Project Settings. The watermark is included by default; removing it is a premium feature that can be toggled off after purchase. Claims that watermark removal is automatically free are not supported by the current documentation. Review the official movie-export instructions.

Premium, legacy purchases, and Magic Cut
FlipaClip’s current feature access can depend on whether you use the free version, a legacy premium purchase, or FlipaClip Plus. Legacy premium purchases made before FlipaClip Plus remain usable on the same operating system and do not require starting a Plus subscription. However, new premium features are not added to the legacy feature set, and a legacy purchase on one operating system cannot automatically be assumed to unlock premium features on another.
Magic Cut is a FlipaClip Plus feature rather than part of the legacy premium bundle. Its workflow begins from the project’s three-dot or settings menu: allow photo access, select an image, and choose from the generated cutouts. Tapping a cutout adds it to the project. Magic Cut can be tried through a seven-day trial or used with a FlipaClip Plus subscription. See FlipaClip’s Magic Cut documentation and its pages on legacy purchases and missing premium features.
Time-lapse recording
Time-lapse is off by default for a project. To access it, press and hold a project in the project list and tap the timer icon. The available options are Share Time-Lapse, Time-Lapse recording, and Delete Time-Lapse Recording.
A default setting is available under Stage Options in Settings. The documented recording rates are 12, 20, 24, and 30 FPS. Time-lapse records actions and switches rather than idle time. It consumes storage and becomes accessible after you save it using the share option. The feature is explained in the official time-lapse guide.

What works offline?
FlipaClip can animate offline, create projects, update existing projects, and make movies. Offline mode does not support operations that require another online service, such as importing media from third-party cloud storage or uploading videos directly to social networks.

Windows 11 troubleshooting checklist
- You found an “official Windows download”: compare it with FlipaClip’s current availability page and official website. Windows is not currently listed as a native target.
- Your project is missing on a new device: signing in does not transfer local projects. Restore a manually shared
.fcbackup instead. - Recent drawings disappeared: check free storage and avoid cache-cleaner applications. Unsaved data may be lost when cache data is cleared.
- Video import fails: check available layers. Video import creates a new layer named video.
- You cannot draw: open the layer panel and unlock the intended layer; drawing is disabled when all layers are locked.
- Audio is missing from the GIF: this is expected. Export MP4 when audio is required.
- The background is not transparent: use GIF or premium PNG Sequence; the transparent-background option does not apply to MP4 and overrides the project background.
- The watermark remains: watermark removal is a premium feature and must be switched off in the movie settings after purchase.
- The stylus is not responding: enable Stylus pressure and choose the correct Draw Input mode under Main Menu → App Settings → Stage. For an Apple Pencil that works elsewhere, restart the device fully first.
Is an emulator a supported solution?
The supplied official documentation does not provide a Windows emulator setup, Windows mouse mapping, or a supported PC installation path. An emulator may be discussed elsewhere, but it should not be presented as an official FlipaClip for Windows 11 release or as a guaranteed solution. If stability, project safety, and support matter, use one of the platforms listed by FlipaClip and transfer the resulting files to Windows.

Can I use a keyboard with FlipaClip?
