Those values are useful for mockups and rough web references—not universal, permanent brand specifications. Platform identities change, logos have approved variants, and colors can differ by asset version, display, color space, geography, and reproduction method. For commercial or production work, use the platform’s current brand kit and supplied logo files, then validate the color for its intended medium.

Quick reference: social-platform colors and fonts
The table below separates practical reference values from claims that require an official, version-specific brand guide. A color described as “commonly cited” may be suitable for a prototype while still being unsuitable for final logo artwork or a printed brand standard.
| Brand or product | Practical color reference | Font guidance | Confidence and caution |
|---|---|---|---|
#1877F2 is the commonly cited Facebook Blue; newer app-era references also show #0866FF. |
Use current custom or supplied brand assets. Klavika is mainly a historical explanation of the earlier wordmark. | Medium for color; low to medium for font. Verify the supplied asset. | |
| Twitter / X | #1DA1F2, RGB 29, 161, 242, is the historical Twitter Brand Blue. |
Do not assume one current official X font. Use the applicable brand toolkit. | High for the historical Twitter reference; low for a current X identity. |
Use the official multicolor gradient. Flat approximations commonly include #E1306C and #E4405F. |
Typography depends on the product surface, campaign, and supplied asset. | Medium. A single pink value does not reproduce the Instagram identity. | |
Black #000000; Google Grey #3C4043; Grey 500 #9AA0A6; white #FFFFFF; red #EA4335; blue #4285F4; yellow #FBBC04; green #34A853. |
Product Sans for the logo and product lockups; Google Sans and Google Sans Text for broader brand and product typography; Roboto for many interface contexts; Noto Sans for non-Latin marketing assets. | High when the correct Google surface and asset are specified. | |
| YouTube | #FF0000 is a common practical digital reference for primary red. |
Use current YouTube logo and wordmark assets. The wordmark should not simply be recreated in Roboto. | Medium. Exact assets may use additional rules and variants. |
#1666C5 is a commonly cited newer reference; older references often use #0077B5. |
Verify LinkedIn’s current guidance rather than treating an observed website font as a brand standard. | Low to medium because values are version- and source-dependent. | |
#E60023 is a common current-era reference; #BD081C appears in older references. |
Use current Pinterest brand assets for wordmarks and logos. | Low to medium. Date the palette you choose. | |
| Snapchat | #FFFC00 is the conventional Snapchat yellow. |
Graphik appears in third-party descriptions, but it should not be treated as a current universal product font without official verification. | Low to medium for typography; medium for the recognizable yellow reference. |
| TikTok | Black with cyan near #25F4EE and red near #FE2C55. |
Check the current TikTok brand kit for type and lockup rules. | Medium. It is a layered color system, not one TikTok HEX value. |
#25D366 is the commonly cited WhatsApp Green. |
Use Meta-supplied logo and product assets. | Medium. Do not substitute a generic green for final artwork. | |
| Messenger | #0084FF is a common reference; Messenger has also used blue-to-purple gradient assets. |
Use current Meta-supplied assets and do not redraw the glyph. | Medium and asset-dependent. |
| Discord | “Blurple” is commonly represented as #5865F2. |
Verify the current Discord kit for fonts and logo spacing. | Medium for the practical color reference. |
| Twitch | A current-era purple reference is near #9146FF. |
Use the current Twitch brand kit for typography and logo construction. | Low to medium because references vary by asset and version. |
Why these are references, not universal brand rules
A brand color can mean several different things: a web UI token, a campaign color, a logo color, a print specification, or a value sampled from a screenshot. These are not interchangeable. A logo may have light and dark variants, an app icon may use a gradient, and a product interface may use accessible colors that differ from marketing artwork.
For final work, record the date, source, asset name, geography, and intended use of every value that matters. “Facebook blue” or “Google red” is not enough information for a printer, developer, or designer who must reproduce the result later.
Recommended Free Tools
Use official SVG or PNG downloads for production logos. Do not redraw, stretch, rotate, recolor, or combine a platform mark with wording that suggests sponsorship, partnership, or endorsement. Meta’s guidance is especially clear that the Facebook company identity and the Facebook app identity are separate considerations; a reference to Facebook as a product within Meta should not be treated as permission to use the Meta corporate identity.
Facebook and Meta
Facebook color
#1877F2, or RGB 24, 119, 242, is the widely circulated Facebook Blue reference. Newer app-era references also report #0866FF. The safest production wording is therefore: #1877F2 is a commonly cited Facebook Blue reference; verify the exact supplied asset before using it in final artwork.
Do not mix the two values casually in one brand board. First decide whether the project refers to an older Facebook reference, a newer app asset, a particular campaign, or a supplied logo file. The exact logo artwork and its clear-space rules take priority over a color swatch copied from a design-list article.
Facebook font
Klavika is often named as the Facebook font because it helps explain the earlier Facebook wordmark. It should not be presented as the current universal Facebook typeface. Current Meta and Facebook branding relies on custom or supplied typography, and the correct file depends on the asset and use case.
There is also an important identity distinction: Meta’s company branding and the Facebook app’s branding are not the same thing. A corporate Meta logo, a Facebook app icon, a Facebook product reference, and a social advertisement may each have different approved treatments.

Twitter and X
The historical Twitter external brand guidelines specify Twitter Brand Blue as #1DA1F2, RGB 29, 161, 242. The historical palette also included black, dark gray, light gray, extra-light gray, and white as supporting colors, with the Twitter logo shown in Brand Blue on white or light backgrounds.
That information must be dated. Twitter was rebranded as X, so #1DA1F2 should be labeled historical Twitter Brand Blue, not silently presented as the current X palette. Before publishing a new campaign, app, or commercial design, check the latest X materials that apply to the intended use.
There is no reliable basis here for naming one current official Twitter or X UI font. Descriptions such as system sans-serif or Helvetica Neue may reflect an implementation or an observed interface rather than a published brand standard. If typography matters, use the current toolkit or the exact supplied lockup instead of reconstructing the logo with a similar font.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Instagram is one of the clearest examples of why a single HEX value can be misleading. Its identity is associated with a multicolor gradient and camera glyph. A flat pink such as #E1306C or #E4405F can serve as a simplified swatch, but it is only an approximation of the visual system.
For an Instagram-like background, use the official gradient asset or the current documented gradient stops. Do not sample a screenshot and call that sampled color the official Instagram color. Screenshots can be affected by display calibration, compression, color profiles, and the particular app surface being captured.
Instagram typography is likewise context-dependent. Its interface may use platform or system typography, while campaigns and brand lockups may use supplied custom treatments. Unless a current official source names a font for the exact surface, avoid claiming that Instagram has one universally mandated typeface.
Google and YouTube
Google’s core palette
Google provides unusually useful primary-source guidance for its core palette:
- Black:
#000000 - Google Grey:
#3C4043 - Google Grey 500:
#9AA0A6 - White:
#FFFFFF - Red 500:
#EA4335 - Blue 500:
#4285F4 - Yellow 500:
#FBBC04 - Green 500:
#34A853
These values are more defensible than many listicle-style color tables because Google’s Partner Marketing Hub documents them as part of its brand guidance. Even so, choose the palette role that matches the project. A Google product interface, a partner-marketing asset, and the Google wordmark are not automatically governed by the same design treatment.

Product Sans, Google Sans, Google Sans Text, Roboto, and Noto Sans
Google’s font names are often collapsed into one vague claim, but they serve different purposes:
- Product Sans: a custom geometric typeface associated with the Google logo and product lockups.
- Google Sans: a related but distinct and more versatile typeface used across broader Google brand and product contexts.
- Google Sans Text: a version developed for smaller text and more practical reading sizes.
- Roboto: widely encountered in Google and Android interface and body-text contexts, including the earlier dual-font system. It is not a replacement for the Google logo lettering.
- Noto Sans: identified for non-Latin marketing assets in Google’s guidance.
Product Sans and Google Sans are therefore not interchangeable labels. Nor does seeing Roboto in a Google-related interface mean the Google wordmark should be recreated in Roboto. Use the font and lockup supplied for the specific surface, and check licensing before substituting a font in a client project.
Google’s brand guidance also warns against imitating its distinctive color combinations or overall identity and against implying endorsement. A plain-text reference to a Google product is a different situation from using Google’s logo in a promotional design.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

YouTube is a Google-owned product, and #FF0000 is a common practical digital reference for its primary red. Treat it as a web or mockup reference, not proof that every YouTube asset uses pure red in every context. The current YouTube brand resources should control the exact logo, icon, wordmark, spacing, and color treatment.
Google’s relationship with Material-style interfaces explains why Roboto may appear around Google products, but it does not mean the YouTube wordmark is simply set in Roboto. A wordmark is artwork or a controlled lockup, not an invitation to typeset a similar-looking replacement.
LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat, and TikTok
#1666C5 is a commonly cited LinkedIn blue, while older web references often use #0077B5. Both should be treated as version- or source-dependent references. If a project depends on exact LinkedIn reproduction, use the current LinkedIn asset and guidance rather than deciding between the two values from a generic color chart.
Do not promote an observed LinkedIn website font to the status of an official brand font unless LinkedIn’s own guidance names it. Website implementation can change independently of identity guidelines.
#E60023 is a commonly circulated Pinterest red. Older references may show #BD081C, reflecting a different identity version or source. Date the value in a design specification and use current Pinterest logo and wordmark files for production.

Snapchat
Snapchat is conventionally associated with yellow, often represented as #FFFC00. Third-party design references connect Graphik with Snapchat typography, but that should remain an approximate reference unless a current Snapchat brand kit confirms the exact family, weight, and use.
TikTok
TikTok’s recognizable system combines black with cyan and red accents. Common references include cyan near #25F4EE, red near #FE2C55, and black #000000. Exact values can vary with the asset and guideline version, so describe this as a layered color system rather than one official TikTok HEX value.
WhatsApp, Messenger, Discord, and Twitch
WhatsApp and Messenger
#25D366 is a useful WhatsApp Green reference. Messenger is often represented with #0084FF, but blue-to-purple gradient assets have also been used. Both products sit within the broader Meta ecosystem, so final logo work should use current Meta-supplied assets rather than a hand-drawn glyph or a color copied from an unrelated app icon.
Discord and Twitch
Discord’s “Blurple” is commonly represented by #5865F2. Twitch is associated with a purple near #9146FF in current-era references. These are not interchangeable: third-party articles sometimes reuse one platform’s purple for another. Use the current official brand kit for exact work, especially when a logo, badge, stream overlay, or commercial promotion is involved.
How to use these colors in a real design workflow
For websites, mockups, and social graphics
- Identify the asset first. Decide whether you are referencing a logo, app icon, interface component, campaign, or general visual association.
- Choose one dated source value. Do not combine a newer app blue, an older logo red, and a screenshot-sampled gray without documenting why.
- Use HEX or RGB for the digital draft. These values are appropriate starting points for CSS, prototypes, presentations, and rough social mockups.
- Use the official asset for marks. Import the supplied SVG or PNG rather than recreating the icon with text, shapes, or a guessed font.
- Test accessibility separately. A recognizable brand color does not automatically provide sufficient contrast. Check every text/background combination at its actual size and weight.
A simple reference map might look like this:
:root {
--facebook-reference: #1877F2;
--twitter-historical: #1DA1F2;
--google-blue: #4285F4;
--youtube-reference-red: #FF0000;
--linkedin-reference: #1666C5;
--pinterest-reference: #E60023;
--whatsapp-reference: #25D366;
--discord-blurple: #5865F2;
}
Comments such as --twitter-historical and --facebook-reference are intentional. They prevent a rough reference from being mistaken for a permanent official token.
For print
A screen HEX value cannot be carried directly into print with a guarantee of visual equivalence. RGB and CMYK are device-dependent, and a printed result changes with the ink, paper or other substrate, printer, profiling, lighting, and proofing process. Pantone’s Color Bridge values are reference points for comparing solid Pantone colors with CMYK simulations and include sRGB and HTML/Hex data; they are not an absolute promise that every printer will produce the same appearance.
If a color must work on both screen and paper, specify the digital value and a separately validated print target. Proof it on the intended substrate with the intended printer. Do not simply paste #4285F4 or #E60023 into a print file and assume the result will match a monitor.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →For designers who regularly translate digital references into print, a Pantone Color Bridge Guide is a practical physical reference because it lets you compare spot-color appearances with CMYK simulations and digital equivalents. It is a color-management tool, not an official Facebook, Google, Instagram, or other platform product. Physical color guides also age: exposure, handling, and storage can change their appearance, so replace them according to the manufacturer’s guidance when color accuracy matters.
If the workflow is based on spot inks and ink formulations rather than web-to-CMYK comparison, a Pantone Formula Guide provides a more appropriate coated-and-uncoated spot-color reference. Choose the guide based on the printing process; neither guide makes an unprofiled screen or printer perfectly accurate.

For teams creating lots of content
Consistency is usually a workflow problem rather than a memory problem. A small business or social team can store the approved palette, font files or licensed font names, logos, templates, imagery, and usage notes in one brand-management workspace. A Canva Brand Kit can support that kind of centralized system for teams already working in Canva: keep the approved colors and fonts together, apply them to templates, and document which values are only approximations.

For repeatable color conversion
Professional designers who need to extract, select, convert, and manage colors across digital and print workflows may also consider Pantone Connect. Pantone describes it as supporting RGB, CMYK, and Hex equivalents and integration with Adobe Creative Cloud. It is most useful when the project needs a repeatable color-management workflow rather than a one-time HEX lookup.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Calling one value “the official color” without a date. Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and other identities have changed or have multiple references in circulation.
- Using a flat swatch for a gradient identity. Instagram, Messenger, and TikTok-related assets can contain multiple colors or transitions.
- Confusing a logo typeface with a UI font. Product Sans, Google Sans, Google Sans Text, Roboto, and custom wordmark lettering serve different roles.
- Recreating a logo from a font. A similar font is not the same as an approved wordmark.
- Copying a screenshot color. Screenshots are not reliable color specifications.
- Using a brand mark to imply a relationship. A color reference does not grant permission to use a logo or suggest sponsorship, partnership, or endorsement.
- Assuming screen color equals print color. Always separate the digital specification from the validated print target.
- Ignoring readability for brand fidelity. A recognizable color still needs independent text and background contrast testing.
A practical specification template
For each platform-inspired color or font in a project, record:
- Brand and product identity, such as Facebook app rather than Meta company;
- Asset or surface, such as logo, app icon, interface, advertisement, or print lockup;
- HEX and RGB values for digital use;
- CMYK, spot-color, or other print target if applicable;
- Font family, weight, license, and whether it is a logo treatment or usable text font;
- Source URL and asset filename;
- Date accessed and relevant geography or market;
- Contrast results for text and interactive elements;
- Restrictions on logo alteration and language that could imply endorsement.
This record is more valuable than a long list of unsourced “brand colors.” It tells the next designer exactly what the value means and when it needs to be checked again.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Klavika still the official Facebook font?
No universal current claim should be made. Klavika is mainly a historical explanation of the earlier Facebook wordmark. Current Facebook and Meta work should use the supplied, approved asset or the typography specified for the particular surface.
Is #1DA1F2 the current X blue?
It is the historical Twitter Brand Blue from Twitter-era guidelines. Because Twitter was rebranded as X, label the value as historical and check current X brand materials before production use.
Can I use these colors and logos in my own design?
A color reference alone does not establish affiliation, but platform logos and wordmarks remain subject to each owner’s brand rules. Use official files, preserve required space, do not alter the marks, and avoid wording or placement that implies sponsorship, partnership, or endorsement.
Why does a HEX value look different when printed?
HEX and RGB describe device-dependent digital color, while printing uses a different color process affected by profiles, inks, paper, printer, lighting, and proofing. Specify and validate a separate print target instead of assuming a screen value will reproduce exactly.

The Bottom Line
Bottom line: use the listed HEX values as clearly labeled starting points for digital references, not as timeless legal or production specifications. The safest workflow is to identify the exact platform asset, use the current official logo and font guidance, document the dated color source, test accessibility, and validate a separate print target when paper is involved.
