InfiniPaint is a drawing and note-taking app built around an infinite canvas, with offline use and online collaboration through lobbies. It may suit sketching, planning, diagrams, and shared notes, but the canvas still depends on your computer’s memory, and the project warns that its WebGL2 browser version may contain bugs.
This review summarizes features documented by the project; it is not a hands-on test of performance or device compatibility. The current release listed by the official download page at research time is v0.6.1.
What is InfiniPaint?
InfiniPaint describes itself as a collaborative, infinite-canvas note-taking and drawing app. The project says there is no zoom-in or zoom-out limit; its repository notes that memory is a practical limit. It is designed for both ordinary canvas drawing and work spread across a much larger visual space.

You can use the app offline, or connect with others in online lobbies. The project documents drawing, text, images, and files on the canvas, along with tools for navigation and organization.

The infinite canvas
A canvas without a fixed page boundary can be useful for exploratory work: you can arrange notes, sketches, or diagrams across a shared visual space and navigate between them by zooming and panning. InfiniPaint provides bookmarks for returning to locations, as well as square grids for use as drawing guides.
Infinite zoom does not mean unlimited performance. The project identifies computer memory as a practical limit, and warns that images—especially animated GIFs—may use substantial memory. Test large or image-heavy work on the device you plan to use.

Drawing, notes, and files
The project lists geometric and selection tools, color picking, text boxes with formatting, layers with blend modes, undo and redo, and remappable keybindings. It also documents custom themes, saveable color palettes, and a quick menu.
You can place images and files on the canvas. The repository says files can be downloaded using the edit tool and describes this as a possible file-sharing mechanism, particularly for small files. The project also documents copy and paste between canvases open in separate tabs of the same window.
These capabilities make InfiniPaint a mix of drawing and visual-note workspace. The available research does not establish how well individual features perform in practice, so try your intended workflow before relying on it for important work.

Collaboration and offline use
Collaboration is organized around online lobbies. - Open InfiniPaint and use its lobby controls to host or join a session.

The research materials do not provide a tested connection procedure or guarantee that every network will work. Check the project’s current instructions and test a session before depending on collaboration for an important meeting.
Platforms and installation
At research time, the official download page lists v0.6.1, with Windows x86_64 and ARM installers and portable builds, macOS for Apple Silicon, Linux options including Flathub, Flatpak bundles, and AppImage, and an Android APK marked beta. Availability can change, so check the official download page for current assets and requirements.
The browser version requires a WebGL2-capable browser. The project warns that it may contain bugs and recommends a native version when possible for a better experience. Android is labeled beta, so do not assume it has the same maturity as desktop builds.
