To stitch a pie design, start with a counted cross-stitch chart whose grid, symbols, dimensions, and thread key are clear. The sources available here do not confirm a particular pie chart, so use the selection checklist below to assess a chart you find—or convert a pie image into a chart and inspect the result before stitching.
What to look for in a pie cross-stitch chart
A counted chart is a grid in which each square represents a stitch; symbols in the chart correspond to thread colors in its key. Before choosing a design, check that the chart is readable and complete enough to follow.
- Clear symbols and key: Symbols should be distinguishable, and the key should identify the corresponding floss colors.
- Stitch dimensions: Note the chart’s stitch width and height. These determine how much fabric the design occupies.
- Palette size: Check how many colors the chart calls for, then use its thread list to plan floss purchases.
- Printable chart: Confirm whether a usable printable chart is included if you want to stitch from paper.
Pattern libraries such as Stitch Zoo can illustrate the kinds of chart information to look for, but the available information does not establish a specific pie design there.

Choose fabric based on the chart’s stitch count
Fabric count affects the finished size: on lower-count fabric, the same number of stitches occupies more space than on higher-count fabric. Stitch Zoo says its pattern dimensions use 14-count Aida, and SketchValley recommends 14-count Aida as an easy-to-see, easy-to-count option for beginners. Those references make 14-count Aida a reasonable starting point when it suits the chart and the size you want.
Check the pattern’s stated fabric count and finished dimensions before buying fabric. If the chart gives stitch width and height but not a finished size, calculate the stitched area by dividing each stitch dimension by the fabric count. For example, a 70-stitch-wide design on 14-count fabric occupies 5 inches of stitched width; leave extra fabric around the design for framing or finishing.

- CROSS STITCH CRAFT: A floral teapot, strawberry cake, lemon tea cup, macaron stack, bread basket, and cherry pie take shape as you stitch the single-sided, 14-count, 2-strand cotton fabric with needles.
- SIX BOOKMARKS, ONE CANVAS: The canvas measures 24 x 41cm (9.45 x 16.14 inches) with a stitchable area of 18 x 35cm (7.09 x 13.78 inches); stitch all six panels, then cut them apart into finished bookmarks.
- BUILT TO LAST: Durable cotton floss and fabric hold their color and shape wash after wash, resisting fraying so each bookmark stays crisp for years of reading.
- BAKERY AND TEA SET: Each of the six panels serves up a different treat, a rose-patterned teapot, a strawberry layer cake, a lemon tea cup, a stack of macarons, a basket of bread, and a lattice cherry pie.
- A CALMING CRAFT AND A THOUGHTFUL GIFT: Stitching each panel is a relaxing, screen-free hobby for adult and teen crafters, and the finished bookmarks make a thoughtful gift for any baker or tea lover.
SketchValley’s guide discusses 14-count Aida as a beginner-friendly choice. Follow the specific chart’s dimensions and fabric guidance rather than assuming every pattern uses the same count.
Gather supplies that match the chart
Once you have selected a chart, use its key and materials list to choose the supplies. Common basics include:
Rank #3
- 98 Cross Stitch Designs Holiday Ornaments Galore, Leisure Arts # 7585
- Aida fabric in the count specified by the chart
- Embroidery floss in the colors listed in the chart key
- A blunt tapestry needle
- Small scissors
- An embroidery hoop, if you prefer to hold the fabric taut while stitching
A supply guide from the cited source covers these common items. The chart’s own thread list should determine your colors; a generic pie palette may not match the design.
Make a chart from a pie image if you cannot find one
An image-to-chart generator is one possible way to turn a pie illustration or photo into a counted design. The result still needs checking: conversion tools may produce a chart that is difficult to read or stitch, and no pie-image conversion has been verified here.

- 【Printing Cross Kit】This is a 11CT stamp kit. The 11CT means that there are 11 grids in one inch of fabric. The stamp kit means that the pattern has been printed on the fabric.
- 【Fabric Size】 11CT printed fabric size: 26 cm×20 cm (10.3''×7.9''),thread color: 15, total number of needles: 2688
- 【Package Inside】Pre-printed embroidery cloth×1, needle×2, full-color thread, manual×1, drawing×1
- 【Functions and Precautions】Please do not wet the pre-covered pattern before completing the cross-stitch work, because it is washable. After finishing, put the fabric in water for half an hour, and then let it dry, then you can make a frame for it. The color blocks on the printed pattern are not the true colors of dental floss. Make sure to use colored treads according to the symbol. Please use 3 strands for 11CT and 1 strand for back stitch.

A guiding gragh, formed by different numbers and symbols, telling you where you should draw the grids and which color of the thread you should use. What you do is just to follow the symbols on the paper. Learn how to start your counting
- Choose a simple, clearly defined pie image; intricate shading and busy backgrounds can create an unwieldy chart.
- Enter the image in a chart generator such as the cited chart tool, following its own instructions.
- Review the generated grid, symbols, color key, stitch dimensions, and palette before buying supplies.
- Print or otherwise prepare a readable chart, then confirm that its dimensions and fabric count suit your project.
How to compare options
When considering charts from pattern libraries or a generator, compare the practical details rather than relying on a pie-themed title or thumbnail alone.
- Can you distinguish the chart symbols and read the key?
- Are width and height stated in stitches?
- Does the chart specify a fabric count or finished dimensions?
- Is the floss palette manageable, and are the colors identified?
- Can you print or comfortably view the chart while stitching?
The cited sources describe their own pattern and tool offerings; they do not provide independent quality testing. No pie-specific chart was confirmed or stitched, so treat any candidate design as something to inspect rather than as a tested recommendation.
