Finished size and layout
The quilt uses 36 blocks arranged in six rows. Eighteen blocks have dark centers and eighteen have light centers; the two types alternate across the rows. The pattern calls for rotating blocks 90 degrees according to its assembly diagram, so use that diagram to orient each block rather than relying on color placement alone.

The quilt center measures 60½ inches square before borders. A 2½-inch inner border and a 5-inch outer border bring the stated finished quilt size to 73½ inches square.
Fabric, backing and batting
The featured fabric plan uses two packs of Plum Pudding Bali Pops, each containing 40 assorted strips measuring 2½ by 42 inches. The pattern also gives an alternate yardage plan for the block fabrics. All quantities are for 100% cotton, and the pattern’s measurements include ¼-inch seam allowances.

The strip-pack plan is not the only option: the published pattern includes separate yardage quantities for lilac, purple and dark-purple batiks for the blocks. Check that alternate cutting plan if you are buying yardage instead of precut strips. The pattern’s named Bali Pops are the featured materials; the information here does not establish whether those packs are currently in stock.

Make the dark and light center units
The pattern builds 18 dark and 18 light center rectangle units from squares and short rectangles. Each center unit is framed with four assorted long rectangles measuring 2½ by 10½ inches to make a block.
Rank #4
Arrange the six rows
Alternate dark- and light-center blocks across six rows, following the pattern’s layout diagram for the 90-degree rotations. That visual reference matters to the block orientation; the written color alternation alone does not specify every rotation.
